Growing research indicates many COVID-19 cases might not be infectious at all
Elevated ‘cycle thresholds’ may be detecting virus long after it is past the point of infection.

Agrowing body of research suggests that a significant number of confirmed COVID-19 infections in the U.S. perhaps as many as 9 out of every 10 may not be infectious at all, with much of the country’s testing equipment possibly picking up mere fragments of the disease rather than full-blown infections.
Confirmed cases of the disease have been the focal point of public health authorities and governments worldwide for many months, with countries across the globe working frantically to shore up their testing infrastructure and ensure that most citizens who want a COVID-19 test can obtain one with relative ease.
Numerous institutions, meanwhile, have adopted testing protocols in an attempt to preempt the spread of the virus. American colleges and universities, for instance, have turned to mass testing in order to closely monitor incidences of the disease among students, particularly residential students living on campus.
Yet a burgeoning line of scientific inquiry suggests that many confirmed infections of COVID-19 may actually be just residual traces of the virus itself, a contention that if true may suggest both that current high levels of positive viruses are clinically insignificant and that the mitigation measures used to suppress them may be excessive.
At issue is the method by which many COVID-19 tests detect a patient’s viral load within a given sample. Polymerase chain reaction tests, which have been widely deployed to determine if individuals are infected with the disease, function by amplifying DNA samples to the point that an antigen can be detected and classified.
The “cycle threshold” is the number of amplification cycles a PCR test goes through before a target pathogen is detected. A lower cycle threshold means that a higher amount of the virus was present in the sample; a higher threshold means the machine had to work harder to detect the virus in the sample, indicating a lower viral load and more likely a non-infectious patient.
Wow. Seeing such wonderful breakfasts this morning! That one is Heavenly.
Good morning. Happy you like it
I noticed that you made a late night of it bringing us the flurry of tweets by the President.
You deserved to sleep in!
A lot of talk this morning on how Biden was treated with kid gloves at his TH and from places you wouldn’t expect like the WP.
I didn’t really watch either TH but saw clips.
Every question to Trump was a set up to to a narrative to make him look bad but not so for Biden.
Trump questions about Trump, Biden questions about Trump, hmmmmmmm!
Also Anderson never called Biden out when he out and out lied.
Fair minded friends: I received a call from the @WhiteHouse . I will have big announcement for you very soon. After leaving the Democratic Plantation, I feel free and happy. Doing everything I can to get @realDonaldTrump re-elected. #VoteTrump2020 @seanhannity @foxnews— TheLeoTerrell (@TheLeoTerrell) September 18, 2020
Has anybody compiled a list - in one place - off all the lies Biden told last night? I have seen many, but they are not all in one place.
Good morning. You are welcome.
No one has been more wrong, more often than Biden. He voted FOR the Iraq War, he supported the defense sequester that gutted our military, he opposed the mission to take out Osama bin Laden, he opposed killing Soleimani, he oversaw the rise of ISIS, and he cheered the rise of...— Donald J. Haven’t seen a Biden Lie List yet but will be sure and post it if I run across it.
Tucker Carlson says alleged Nashville coronavirus data ‘cover-up,’ other obfuscations ‘unforgivable’
He said bars and restaurants have led to just 22 cases, compared to more than 1,000 in nursing homes

Tucker Carlson, the host of “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” on Thursday called an alleged cover-up in the Nashville mayors office over how many coronavirus cases are linked to bars and restaurants and other believed instances of politicians obfuscating about the data unforgivable.
FOX 17 in Nashville reported this week on emails between Democratic Mayor John Coopers office and the city’s health department that discussed the fact that only a very low number cases have been traced to bars and restaurants in the city.
As of June 30, bars and restaurants had led to just 22 virus cases compared to more than 1,000 in nursing homes in Nashville, private data showed, according to Carlson.
Numbers like these could be great news for the city of Nashville. Bars and restaurants have been suffering there for months under crushing COVID restrictions,” he said.
A Nashville Health Department official reviewed the numbers and wrote an email to the mayors officer last summer that said, This isnt going to be publicly released, right? Just info for Mayors Office?” Correct, not for public consumption, a senior adviser in the mayors office replied.
“Why are they so afraid to tell us the real numbers? You know the answer, the more data you have about the virus, the more facts, the more science, the less frightened you may be,” Carlson said. “And thats why they always emphasize how many people have died almost 200,000 but almost never who died.”
“If you knew the details you might realize that getting a drink at a bar in Nashville or for that matter sending your children to school in person poses very little risk to anyone,” he added.
Carlson posited that the “restrictions and terrible policies” by politicians like Mayor Cooper “are causing far more harm to this country and its population than the virus itself is causing.
