Americans can't stop shoving pizza into their faces

America's pandemic-induced love affair with pizza shows no signs of slowing down.

That's a huge relief for Papa John's, helping to speed up its turnaround plans. The pizza chain said Tuesday that its North American sales rose 24% over the past four weeks. Internationally, sales were also strong, jumping 23% for the period.

Pizza has thrived as other restaurants struggle mightily during the coronavirus pandemic. Pizza has been synonymous with delivery for decades, which is crucial when people are afraid or barred from eating inside restaurants. And it's cheap -- helpful during the worst recession since the Great Depression.

"Papa John's numbers demonstrate that value and convenience is likely to be a powerful combination even a post-pandemic environment," Morningstar analyst R.J. Hottovy told CNN Business.

If love pizza you might want to check out Dave Pourtnoy of Bar Stool Sports abs his One Bite Pizza reviews on YouTube and elsewhere. He’s the guy who interviewed Trump recently and appears pretty often on Tucker’s show. Independent thinking kind of guy. We get a kick out of his pizza reviews. Here’s a good article about this: https://www.mensjournal.com/food-drink/barstool-sports-dave-portnoy-has-eaten-pizza-daily-for-two-years/

To each their own choice of food-but if anyone is wondering why there are people in cities who have mooo-ved from needing to lose 10 lbs to being a major fatass during the scamdemic-just look at the crap they’ve eaten rather than cook their own food fresh.

There has been no shortage of fresh veggies in anyone’s garden or a meat or veggie shortage at the grocery store-there are no fast food places-including pizza-within 18 miles-not worth the drive, since you couldn’t eat inside...

The owner of the local gym moved a lot of machines and free weights into the open pole barn on their property and was having Pilates and Zumba classes in the area just outside the barn-plenty of social distancing-no neighbors look bigger than they did before Wuhan virus...

I grew up in a pizza-less remote area in the middle of nowhere where I grew up-no pizza nearby until I went to college in the city-pizza and beer was what guys considered a proper date to take a girl on, if you really liked her-much better than a burger place but not too much more expensive. Even then, I got a fork, ate the toppings off the pizza and left the crust-I grew up eating organic paleo style-I still don’t like starchy stuff like bread or dough on/with my food. If you get rid of the crust, pizza is actually pretty good food-plenty of protein, not too many carbs-the crust is the carb nightmare...

One of the best things about working from home, is now I take a 20-30 minute walk every 2-3 hours, so I easily can walk 6-7 miles a day.

Read the headline and thought ‘Sounds about right!’

Then I saw the source was CNN. Now I’m not so sure...

Great regional chain in New Mexico called Dion’s.

Not as good as New York, but close.

New Mexicans put green chili on their pizzas. Pain is a flavor here.

Dipping it in ranch dressing is also a big deal.

That’s true, the few times that I have gone out for pizza with the family, I basically just scooped the toppings off of the crust, and it was just fine.

I tried cauliflower too. Didn’t work. I scraped the toppings off and ate them. ;0)

Papa John’s or Pizza Hut isn’t real Italian pizza.

I live in San Antonio. I’m from Brooklyn and spent many years in central NJ. Every year my wife and I spend a few weeks at the outlaws place in Toms River.

You need to use genuine Neapolitan 00 flour. I buy it on Amazon.

Americans can’t stop shoving pizza into their faces

And that's better and tastier than CNN shoving bullsh!t at everyone's faces worldwide.

Just add a salad or steamed veggies and you have a pretty healthy, balanced meal...

I’ve noticed a few more people hiking in the woods on weekdays-when I would get home around 2-3 from work before, i had the place almost all to myself-but since everyone is working from home, I pass 3-4 people on the trails all the time...
