America's pandemic-induced love affair with pizza shows no signs of slowing down.
That's a huge relief for Papa John's, helping to speed up its turnaround plans. The pizza chain said Tuesday that its North American sales rose 24% over the past four weeks. Internationally, sales were also strong, jumping 23% for the period.
Pizza has thrived as other restaurants struggle mightily during the coronavirus pandemic. Pizza has been synonymous with delivery for decades, which is crucial when people are afraid or barred from eating inside restaurants. And it's cheap -- helpful during the worst recession since the Great Depression.
"Papa John's numbers demonstrate that value and convenience is likely to be a powerful combination even a post-pandemic environment," Morningstar analyst R.J. Hottovy told CNN Business.

I personally can’t stand Pizza.
RIP Poppie.
I tried the Cauliflower crust pizza, didn’t work for me.
I’m going to make a ghetto steak and cheese calzone tonight.
Heck, back in the day for me it was for Breakfast and Lunch.
Americans can’t stop shoving pizza into their faces

As if we should feel guilty for eating whatever the hell we want. If it was up to the liberals, every human being on the planet would either be as miserable as they are, or dead.
Of all the fast food pizza. .. PJ ‘s has the best crust and cheese.
However, you must go to to St. Louis for the best local. ... IMO’s. Best thin crust with custom blended cheese. ... You just have to scrape it off the box. .. Lol.
One of the only redeeming things about NJ. Best Pizza in the country.

Agree 100%.
It’s not real pizza if you put it in one end of the oven and it come out the other end.
Chicago-Style is the best.
I will admit that I have been eating more pizza lately.
It has little to do with the pandemic however.
It is because my wife stopped working 3 nights a week and started working 5 days a week. Less time available for regular meal preparation.
But we arent eating Papa Johns, Dominos or Little Cesars (God forbid Pizza Hut, the HORROR!). It I am going to eat empty calories I am going to eat something that taste good and supports a local business rather than a huge chain.
I realize that I have more disposable income than many people and I dont look down on people for buying a cheap pizza but I can afford to spend more and I prefer to spend my money at a local business.

Exactly! And of course they have to use the perjorative “shoving pizza into their faces” - as though they don’t shove their arugula into THEIR faces (and pizza, when nobody’s looking).
I second that.
Nothing like a true Chicago pizza.
My dogs had pizza today...
We buy crusts with sauce, add olive oil, cheese
and ground elk.
Of course I always get a pizza with the least on it and add my own ingredients, mostly bacon pieces, black olives, bell pepper and LOTS more cheese! YUM!!
I’ve had Chicago pizza years ago, and didn’t care for it (if I remember right, it’s thick, isn’t it?).
OK. I’ll settle this. :-)... The best pizza is genuine Italian pizza. I’ve been to Italy several times and even the best pizza I’ve had in the States doesn’t hold a candle to what they make over there.
I tried making my own pizza dough from scratch about a month ago. It was beautiful until I baked it. It was more like a biscuit. Not sure what I did wrong, but I did do something wrong. It was a pretty pizza, but the crust was horrible. Too stiff and crunchy.
The masks make it a little more challenging...
