At least 3 dozen states have reported coronavirus cases on college campuses

Classes have not even started at the College of the Holy Cross, in Worcester, Massachusetts, but there are growing concerns over the students’ disregard of coronavirus safety protocols. Over the weekend, campus police busted a large party at an off-campus apartment rented by Holy Cross students, eliciting growing concerns that such gatherings could turn into coronavirus super-spreader events.

"Not only did the number of people in attendance exceed the state limit on the number of people at a gathering, but attendees were not wearing masks or adhering to physical distancing guidelines," said college administrators in a letter to the community, calling the behavior "highly irresponsible."

According to the school, the party has led to a potential cluster of infections, and if such behavior continues, the rest of the student body may be unable to return to campus, later this year.

Similarly, only eight days into the semester, Notre Dame was forced to cancel in-person classes for two weeks, after seeing a "dramatic increase" in positive coronavirus, with 336 students infected as of Friday. Most infections have stemmed from off-campus gatherings, according to the University's contact tracing analysis.

"Students infected at those gatherings pass it on to others, who in turn, pass the virus on to a further group, resulting in the positive cases we have seen," stated Notre Dame President Rev. John I. Jenkins on Tuesday, in a stern message to the community.

Wait, they get laid in the hospital? Shouldn’t people be busy with patients and office work for documentation regarding the procedures?

“They will vote. In their home states.”

Fewer. On campus there are huge GOTV efforts — busses, cars and other methods to bring the young Marxists to the polls.

There’s no fixing stupid. “Gatherings off campus”, sounds just like “protests” to me, all a way to spread the virus.

It’s not spreading in the classrooms. Kids are coming to college WITH THE VIRUS — schools that did 100% testing have all found a number of positive cases that had no idea they were positive.

Adjutant: “What were you doing down there, soldier?”

Soldier: “Just trying to get some sleep, uh, sir!”

Patton: “Well, get back down there, son. You’re the only son of a bitch in this headquarters knows what he’s trying to do!”

At all times. it is essential to know what you are trying to do. Our national response to COVID is impaired because no one in a position of responsibility can begin to define what they are trying to do. Including, but not limited to, Donald J. Trump.

That is A plan.

I'm not sure it's the right plan (I'm an epidemiologist and infectious diseases specialist), but I AM sure that having NO plan is creating chaos and unnecessary stress on people, especially children.

And the Wuhan Virus death rate of college age kids is what???

Had most of the college age kids already had their Wuhan Virus infection with a not severe illness, we would be a lot closer to herd immunity now.

Every age group above 18-29 year olds is at least twice as likely or more to die from a Wuhan Virus infection.

Big deal - almost every county in this country can “report corona virus cases”. Grow up.

Back in the day, no matter what your symptoms were, you could go to the university clinic and they’d tell you you had mono.

Positive cases among young people are not the same as deaths in the over 80 and infirmed demographic.

This continues to be fear mongering by the media and liberal groups and politicians. "OMG! We've had an increase in the number of "positive cases" because we tested more people."

What they are finding out is that most of the population probably has the virus but 99% of them will not get symptoms, or have slight symptoms and recover and not die from the virus.

It is not physically possible to eradicate this inert virus but that is what these "expert health authorities" act like is their goal. It ain't going to happen.

How many of the older faculty, janitorial staff, clerical staff have to die or get seriously ill because of these stupid, irresponsible students? They shouldn’t be in college. Make them finish compulsory military service when they get out of high school. Maybe they’d wise up.

By the way, the CDC reported earlier this week that COVID-19 is the third leading cause of death in the U.S. now after heart disease and cancer. I suppose that’s just an exaggeration meant to defeat Trump.

she may not have been sick as a carrier, but I guarantee you that the nurses and staff took extra precautions to avoid being infected. MRSA is no joke, especially if it gets into the lungs. In the least case it will mean increased healing time for even the smallest scratch.

same as, who cares if a bunch of 20yo miscreants get CCPVirus. But it’s the older school staff and shop owners in town they interact with that have to worry about being infected by those same miscreants. From cafeteria workers to librarians to the surfboard shop owner. Of course, 20yo’ds don’t think that far ahead, they’re still stuck on ‘me, me, me’.

You deflect. This is not what a fentanyl overdose looks like. And regardless the kneeling on the neck past the point of loss of conscious is beyond irresponsible.

These are my conclusions. Based on sound judgment and fact and actual knowledge of medicine. Not talking points that are being blindly repeated like yours.

It is impossible to be on the side of the cop and not look like a total idiot. But hey, you be you.

Oh...I thought we were talking about COVID not George Floyd. I had heard the point about fentanyl; I wasn’t sure what to think about it.

I worked all night last night on the front line. Honestly I am a little tired and maybe not as sharp as I ought to be. I apologize if I were salty.
