I'm not certain of the rules for posting links to DU so I will simply relay the info.
I was looking to see how DU was taking Biden picking Harris, given that her prosecutorial record isn't well-liked in many leftist circles. I stumbled upon a post titled
So Long, and Thanks for All the (Swedish) Fish
In that post, the prior, long-time owner David Allen (aka skinner) disclosed that he sold DU a few weeks ago to Dave Allsopp (aka EarlG), a long-time DU Administrator and co-founder.
I searched but didn't see that this news was posted on FR.
There can be all sorts of reasons for cashing out, though it's an odd time to do so.

personally...i luv to checkout the “enemies” thinking as well...( if the “friendlies” here trash you for that..Id assign them to the rear echelon and jobs that support the fighting troops..cause they'd never make it on the front lines....."intelligence and strategy" is not their forte)

DU was hysterical back in 2004.
You see, in that election the exit polls said that John Kerry won, and that was enough to convince the Dummies that the exit polls were correct and the official count was wrong.
Anyone who suggested the remotest possibility that this was a wacko conspiracy theory was banned for life!
I trolled DU a lot of years ago. This was when george w bush was still in office.
I would take a passage from hitlers mein kampf. Where the passage had the words jews or jewery, i replaced with the words conservatives or conservatism. And if the passage had the word germany, i replaced it with america. Otherwise i left the rest of the passage alone.
Then I’d look for threads where the passages would be on topic. For example, if the thread was about economics, then i used a mein kampf passage about economics. If the thread was about war and/or the military, i used a mein kampf passage that was about war or the military.
DUers were replying, agreeing with me, complimenting me and my opinions. One such long time and well known DUer praised me, telling me that i write just like bill clinton!
It took a couple weeks and a few dozen posts before the DU monitors finally caught on and banned me as well as delete my posts.
