QAnon is a wide-ranging, unfounded conspiracy theory that a "deep state" network of powerful government, business and media figures are waging a secret war against Donald Trump.
A Facebook spokeswoman said the group was removed for "repeatedly posting content that violated our policies".
Last month both Twitter and TikTok also cracked down on QAnon content.
Twitter banned thousands of accounts and said it would block QAnon urls, while TikTok deleted hashtags that signposted QAnon videos.
The deleted Facebook group, called Official Q/Qanon, had nearly 200,000 members.
There are, however, many other QAnon groups that are currently still active on the platform.
QAnon followers are mainly supporters of the US president.

obviously they have to remove this material....because obviously there is no coordinated effort by the media to get Trump or censor pro-Trump information.
Obviously that’s what must happen.
Suckerberg knows there is going to be anti-trust hell to pay in the years following Trump’s reelection and is doing all he can to try and stop it.

While I am utterly not a follower of “Q”, with all the crap that is allowed to flourish on Facebook - why would they shut down this group?
Wonder if there may be something to it?
I have never followed QAnon, or even given them much thought. But if they were just a nut-case conspiracy group, why would Facebook and other platforms want to ban them like this? Maybe they aren’t so nut-case after all. The only threat I can see that they would be for, would be the Deep State. Somebody certainly doesn’t like the information being shared by their forum. Maybe I’ll start to pay more attention while there is still time.

Veracity of the data advanced by Q depends on the subject, and on the whole Q is no more unreliable than the established press.
On the hoaxes used to take Trump out, some of the names advanced by Q had been “off the radar,” and the links between CIA, FBI, State, etc. are not much part of the press reports, but are also not totally missing. In fact, on of the better “debunkings” is that nothing Q is saying isn’t supported by otherwise public info.
Some of the Q “things” are nutty, but IMO, those “things” are in the nature of hopium, and aren’t essential for understanding the corruption in and around our and other governments.
Seems like a lot of work for "unfounded." No?
The old adage applies here, Q would not be drawing all the flack if he were not over the target. The attention given to what they derisively describe as a LARP tells you all you need to know. Think logically.
We are in a crisis of self-governance. The United States has progressively become more democratic & bureaucratic over the generations as we move away from our representative republican constitutional roots. Now all the sudden we are told that the Russians, Chinese, and various conspiracy groups are swaying our sacred elections? Really?
It is essentially the same as book burning. While it is a private platform used for essentially free by millions of people if one’s positions don’t fit the narrative you can be removed and all your material ‘banned.’
It is no different than when some ‘troll’ hits FR and is eventually removed. Soon, it won’t just be social media platforms, but hosting servers will be banning or refusing to host certain websites.
It is essentially the same as banning books and book burning. Keep the opposing viewpoint from the public. No one reads newspapers or even books all that much these days. Everything is consumed online, if that is the case, then these private entities control much of the narrative. Down to the very ‘what’ you are allowed to consume.
It is just technology that has advanced to the point that we don’t recognize ‘book burning’ when it involves internet media. It isn’t our government that is censoring our voices...it is the deep state. Banning a Q’anon group of conspiracy theorists with 200,000 members is the same as them marching into a meeting and setting the meeting hall on fire.
