And he was 5 or 6 when he saw it.

Someone should call CPS on his parents for taking a kid that young to the theater. lol

The man that witnessed the assassination would of been only 5 years old in 1865. Amazing that he still remebered.

I was six when Kennedy was assassinated, and my memories are very clear.

My grandmother, born in 1888, moved in with us in 1956 when she became ill, and used to tell my brother and I stories about her Father taking the family to church in a horse and buggy. Being a dumb kid, I remember asking here if she ever saw President Lincoln. LOL!

My wife’s grandfather just passed at 204. He was as lucid as he ever could be. Hard to believe he was as old as he was by simply listening to him. The stories he told!!!

Someday I hope to be the last living person who remembers the night Hillary Clinton lost the 2016 election. “Yes, Bob. They were all in shock over at MSNBC and CNN. As for me, I was laughing hysterically. I remember it well.”

I was 7.

The day is burned into my brain. So is the funeral.

9-11, the same and I bet it is for my kids.

My wife’s grandfather just passed at 204.

I'm sure you meant 104. My late Father, who would have been 103 this year used to me about the horse drawn ice wagon coming around to deliver ice for their icebox. Until he died in 1988, he called a refrigerator, an "icebox."

They gave the man the entire prize of: $80.00

I saw this about a week ago and had to look it up: about $750 in today's dollars.

He lived close enough he could have actually met Sen. Kennedy.

“Say, you’re a handsome guy. Kinda like old Abe. You should run for President some day!”

There are literally hundreds of old “I’ve got a Secret” and “What’s My Line” episodes on YouTube. And these are the complete episodes, not just clips. Check it out!

And I particularly like the “What’s My Line” ones. The panel had class, real class. You don’t see anything like that today.

Same here. I was about 6 or 7. I remember several scenes and remarks made because everybody kept talking about it for the next what? 10 or 15 years. I recall one of my uncles speaking of JFK’s death. He was saying; “Now Cuba is gonna be coming for us, Russia too!”. I didn’t get what he was talking about till much later.

I always marveled at my maternal grandfather’s life. Born in 1890 died in 1987. Crossed the Missouri river in a wagon on a barge at 5 with his family to homestead in the Nebraska sand hills. Saw the first automobile in his life at age 17. When he died the Shuttle program had been going for several years.

He loved science, was a high school science teacher, and saw that amazing slice of history in his lifetime.
