The 2021 Tournament of Roses Parade, an institution in Pasadena, California, since 1891, has been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. This is the first time in 76 years the parade, held each year on New Years Day, has been canceled. This year would have marked the 132nd edition.
With reluctance and tremendous disappointment, the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association announces that, in accordance with Gov. [Gavin] Newsoms Phase IV reopening schedule, and after thoughtful consideration of the restrictions and guidelines in place as a result of COVID-19, we are unable to host the 2021 Rose Parade, the organizers of the event said in a statement.
The parade was previously canceled in 1942, 1943 and 1945 due to World War II. Broadcast all around the world, the spectacle-driven event is famed for its procession of flowery floats, horses and marching bands. While further out than most of the events currently being canceled, work on the following years Rose Parade typically begins in February.
The parade generally coincides with the Rose Bowl, a college football playoff semifinal game. Plans for the game are still under consideration.
But BLM riots still allowed!!!!
They’ll do another “pride” parade in its place.
I think all sports games will end up cancelled until next year at the rate the media is causing a fearful public.
Gosh, it’s only July.
I would like to see the Rose Parade in person someday.
In further news, California has called off the year 3000 celebration due to COVID.
“The 2021 Tournament of Roses Parade, an institution in Pasadena, California, since 1891, has been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.”
Unless Biden wins...then it’s back on again.
It’s not good that California—as big as it is—is failing so spectacularly. But I can’t help savoring some schadenfreude, California is a third world Rat sh*thole and what goes around comes around.
The Tournament of Roses is a HUGE event, it literally causes a temporary WORLDWIDE shortage in the international flower markets each January.
I would like to see the Rose Parade in person someday.
Why would they do that, it’s after the election?
Suppose you had the smartest, EVIL minds in the world thinking of toppling The United States of America. Could you send it into chaos? Topple it? How?

Hmm, sounds challenging.
I guess HDTV is the answer.
Yep!
The Rose Parade used to be a part of our lives on New Year Day, but then they went so far to the left we quit watching it. Waste of valuable time.
You dont have to stay out all night to see the Rose Parade. Go to the last couple blocks of the parade route, at around 7:30 am. Park on a side street. About 8 AM in the morning, people are allowed to move off the sidewalk and into the street, up to the painted blue line. When that happens, step behind the people who just moved and occupy their old spot on the curb. Bring a folding chair, have a seat, and you will have a very nice view of the parade, looking over their heads.
But obviously not this year.
Well ain’t that ducky....
