Can’t... stop... watching...

I hope the car is OK.

Kid tried to car jack my son on Peter’s Street in Athens, GA. Thankfully the doors were locked when the kid grabed the door handle and yelled for my son to get out. The kid failed to see the full grown German Shepard in the back seat until the dog was leaping across my sons lap to eat the kid alive.

The kid said Oh Fudge and set an out door sprint record.

I will always love that dog.

If someone tries to break into your car, you have the right to defend yourself. Driving away gets you away from the danger.

I feel absolutely NO sympathy for the attempted hijacker and for whatever happened to him, no matter what that might be.

The right to self defense does not come from the state, and the state cannot take it away. Even if it arrests you and prosecutes you and executes you.

The guy who got crushed was the victim of a road rage incident. The person in the white car stole his car keys and the guy was trying to get them back. He was bruised but otherwise unhurt.
It happened in Brooklyn.

Sweet! Love a happy ending.

Stealing a car with the driver still in it says a lot about the bad guy. The intent could have been much more than theft.

This was not a carjacking incident. Here’s what really happened.

1. Avoid dangerous places ( most cities).

2. Lock your doors, keep windows rolled up.

3. Maintain Situational Awareness- you ought to know who is behind you, who is moving around on foot. Look at faces. Stop signs/lights are to the place or time to put on make up, check phone etc.

4. Maintain a car length of space in front of you ( you can’t control space behind you.

5. Have a plan even if minimally, to move your vehicle if someone attempts to access.

6. If armed, have it accessible. As a Lefty, I cannot effectively draw while seated and belted, so my weapon goes into a RH duplicate screwed to the lower dashboard for right handed use. If I was a Righty, I would do the same. Or, better yet, have two weapons, one for car mounted storage and the other on your person, have a secure means of storing the car gun when you are not present ( lock box bolted to the floor etc).

7. Practice or at least simulate weapon handling (safely) from inside your vehicles ( inside a closed garage, cleared weapon)
,

8. Avoid cities did I mention that?

Thanks for that information. So then, the driver was the bad guy. Glad to hear the victim wasn’t injured seriously.

When I’m in my vehicle, I have less than a second access to two pistols.
A good habit is also to learn to take off the seatbelt so your right hand (For right handed carriers) pushes the unlock button while your left hand draws the belt away and clear. Then, your right hand is immediately free to reach for the pistol grip.
If you take your seat belt off in this manner every time, you’ll gain muscle memory and it’ll become second nature.

Interesting how a short video like that can be viewed two different ways. Thanks for the truth.

Folks usually forget that a 3,000 pound vehicle is quite a weapon.

Problem is when your 3000lb weapon is effectively “holstered” between 4 other cars around you. Have a plan. And a backup plan....
