My understanding is that once a living thing reaches about 35 lbs, it can not be a flying creature, other than possible as a glider. The idea is that beyond that weight, every pound of bone, muscle, wing, etc. added gives you less than a pound of lift.

It’s one of the mysteries they can’t crack regarding the Pterodactyl and other large “flying” creatures.

Anything called a “flying fox” should me MUCH cuter.

Anyway, this is sort of a hoax of perspective, like the apparently 8-foot rabbits or 6-foot cats, or Gandalf being twice the size of the hobbits.

Flying foxes top out at about 15 inches from head to toe, despite the very long wingspan.
