The hulking bat is native to Asian island nation and has a wingspan of 1.7m.

My understanding is that once a living thing reaches about 35 lbs, it can not be a flying creature, other than possible as a glider. The idea is that beyond that weight, every pound of bone, muscle, wing, etc. added gives you less than a pound of lift.

It’s one of the mysteries they can’t crack regarding the Pterodactyl and other large “flying” creatures.
