Boeing communications boss Niel Golightly has resigned over a sexist article he wrote three decades ago opposing women’s service in the military.
His exit leaves the embattled planemaker searching for a new top spokesman as it works to get its troubled 737 MAX jet flying again.
Golightly stepped down Thursday as Boeing’s senior vice president of communications following an employee complaint about the 1987 article, which he called “embarrassingly wrong and offensive.”

While I don't agree with everything you say about Boeing (I don't have quite the same level of animosity) I totally agree with you on this. I happen to know who made the complaint and have listened to the gloating from this hyper-SJW embarrassment to humanity and it makes me sick. But the top brass is all on board with the "Woke" culture as we both know.
Cowards, every last one of them.
BTW, for the others on this post, Golightly is British so he had no intestinal fortitude to begin with.

I was the Asst NCOIC of warehouse operations, 436th Supply Sqdrn, Dover AFB, DE, between 1974-1976. I had an all female krewe of personnel, caucasian, negroid, asian and latino. A few were single mothers.
The man’s estimation of females in the military, weighed against this experience of mine, proves he was correct!!!

It was a good call, no sarc. Women do great in some fields of the military, have no business in other areas. And i served a full career as an Army Officer.
I knew Neil Golightly a while ago. As it turns out, he is very American: he was a Naval aviator flying F-14s in the Mediterranean when Libya was bombing discos and commercial aircraft in the 80s. He appeared to be a straight shooter; I’m sad that he was compelled to apologize and resign for this.

The Boeing board is a serious bunch of goofs. They are quick for social justice but extremely light on accountability for actions that hurt the company.
They find a person they don’t like and look for a reason to fire them. They had to go back three decades for this one.
The one thing that’s hurting Boeing is this organizational whiplash. Niel came in only six months ago.
Imagine in his defense, he said “Currently, the USA requires males to register for Selective Service while women are exempt. Men have to do this or risk a fine and cannot receive student loans. Women get student loans without having to register and face no fine. Can someone explain that to me?”
I would at least go out with a bang and defend my PERFECTLY SENSIBLE opinion piece - now proven as such.

In 1987, we were still fighting the Cold War, so the military actually needed to be prepared to fight and win. Now, not so much...
