Some Seattle police officers are concerned that disbanding the autonomous zone being occupied by protesters could turn violent. Since officers can't use pepper spray or tear gas to force people to disperse, some officers say their only course of action could be batons and firearms.
Two weeks after protesters cordoned off and occupied parts of Capitol Hill, now named the Capitol Hill Occupied Protest (CHOP), Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan announced on Monday it would be disbanded. Officials didn't share a specific timeline for clearing the area and Durkan said the goal is to have people leave voluntarily.
But a Seattle police officer who spoke to Newsweek on the condition of anonymity, said protesters don't have to listen to law enforcement. The officer expected protesters won't be keen on vacating the area, potentially leaving officers with one option: to use force.
"We're no longer allowed to use things like tear gas and pepper spray. The only thing that we can use is our sidearms or our batons," the officer said. "...And we lose if we use force, it's gonna look ugly."

I don’t know if it will be that easy. CHOP is not without some options of its own (which I don’t care to get into). Plus they have lots of sympathizers outside the zone who are on their side. The police could find themselves in a dicey situation.
This could be a Mexican standoff.
Flame throwers. They will leave.
An AC-130 would clean out the trash pretty quick.
1. Leave firearms at home or in your vehicle.
2. Acquire new uniform, which includes the market researched fuzzy bunny slippers.
3. You are only allowed to strike back if you receive a flesh wound. Ni!
4. If these misunderstood protesters are set for a siege, please ask nicely, with a cherry on top, for them to leave.
4. The 'misunderstoods' must arrest themselves. You racist, misogynistic, homophobic pigs can not touch these lovely people. Pick up the new softer and kinder handcuffs for out saints on the streets.
5. If this fails, run away.
The only thing that we can use is our sidearms or our batons,” the officer said. “...And we lose if we use force, it’s gonna look ugly.”
The police are fools to follow these orders, unless they intend to go in all Spetsnaz in masks, khaki, and NO BADGES. Maybe a local EMP of the phones would be a good idea.
She’ll demand the police or whomever disburse the crowd peacefully and with love.
The “protest” served its purpose but has been affecting them poorly in the polls so they decided to shut it down. How? They just reached out the organizations that were paying them to riot and told them to move on to the next target.
NOW youre talking! Say what you want but Philadelphia was pretty quiet for a while.
Wall the place off. Only exit is a dock onto a ship. Send them to the Aleutian islands. Have a nice summer punks. Mind the mosquitos and the bears.
Im pretty sure that spraying water will trigger memories of fire hoses in Selma. So they cant be used.

It may turn out that Seattle just decides to simply buy them off. Its only taxpayer money. LOL
Fire hoses. Lots of fire hoses. And hippie-eating police dogs. And Oak Shampoo. Lots of it. Frankly, just bring in The Scoops.
been wondering about what was happening with jimmy kimmel...this story makes sense

[Blind Gossip] Everyone seems to be ultra-sensitive right now.
There is a lot of finger pointing going on, and a lot of detailing every transgression and microaggression anyone has ever committed.
It doesnt seem to matter when in time or history such events took place. Things that were said or done five years or five decades or even five centuries ago are now being judged by todays standards.
The result could be a beat down, a take down, a shakedown, or having the harshest of labels permanently assigned to you.
However, this cancel culture is not only the work of individuals.
This TV star is finding that out the hard way.
[The network] thinks that time is up and they are ready to move on to someone new. However, they cant just dismiss [him/her] because there is a contract. Thats why they are leaking things from the inside that happened years ago.
If this is the case, you have to ask yourself who would benefit from such a move.
Obviously, the network would save a huge amount of money if they could get that contract cancelled.
And, obviously, that persons replacement would be landing a sweet gig that could last for years and years.
Blast with water canons then drop in CS gas and pepper spray. Then turn on the calypso music and watch all doing the limbo.
I would rather they clear CHOP by telling them to surrender in an orderly manner at the barriers. Anyone who does not do so will have to live in CHOP without any utilities and with no food going into CHOP. Those still holding CHOP will be give a second chance to surrender. Those who do not surrender will be part of an insurrection. They will face the Choppers overhead, police on Chopper, and patriots on Choppers who will have the authority to use deadly force against anyone wielding a deadly weapon.
