Things I am not panicking about: 1. The new strain of Wuhan flu hitting China 2. People who go to parties in defiance of limits to gathering size 3. Someone nearby me sneezing or coughing 4. The Wuhan flu “outbreaks” occurring all across America 5. 16 people testing positive after going to a Florida bar 6. Celebrities who contract Coronavirus 7. Just about any media headline about CV, like the 6 above, that is meant to make me panic
Why is it that in 1957-1958 the Asian Flu killed twice the percentage of Americans as Covid 19 has but they didn’t shut down the economy, close schools, or cancel sports? We’re they uncaring back then or are we just more pussified today?

Brilliant! Thank you. Every time I read a breathless headline about increased cases I look in vain for the correlating data in increased testing. For some odd reason, it’s never part of the story? I wonder if they just stopped testing every “karen” who wants a test and the number of new cases plummeted, would the media celebrate the end of the pandemic?

Given their stance on kneeling for the anthem, I think that a few sports are self-banning. NFL, NASCAR, Soccer (who watches that anyway?), e.g..

Abbot attributed the spike in cases to batched data coming in from “congregate settings” such as prisons and nursing homes.
He said that testing in nursing homes is nearing 100 percent and that more than half of the state’s jail and prison settings had been tested. In many cases, Abbott said, the jail and prison population has a higher infection rate than the rest of the population.
Second wave? Where’s the evidence of a first wave in Beijing?
