Its definitely messed up. Each and everyone of us has to decide where that line is that if crossed you will have no choice but to use swift and overwhelming violence to end a threat. Sad as it is, as a private citizen, a public statue being desecrated doesn't come close to crossing that line. That SHOULD BE the job of the police, but, for the moment, police seem to have lost their compass. And shame on them for not doing so here, in Portland, and so many other places.

Agreed. In Los Angeles a few days ago three People were defending their Store from Looters. They were Armed with Shotguns.

A bunch of LAPD Cops showed up. The Looters ran away and the Cops disarmed and cuffed the Store Owners. Not sure if they Arrested them.

From the video it appears to me that the guy was trying to escape from the guy beating him with the skateboard, got clean away and Skateboard man came after him, and started beating him again. So SM got shot.

I saw it. Still doesnt show how it began. When the entire story can be shown or accurately described, then we will know. As of now the shooter is in custody. In almost every place save a few in the country, that is always going to be the case. Whether he is charged for something remains to be seen.

Because the person actually hit him with the skateboard and a mob went after him screaming it was time for him to die. That was defense, and clearly the actions of a man being threatened and fighting for his life.

There were several chasing him down yelling death threats at him. Personally, at that point, I would be in fear of my life. I’d do whatever I had to do to defend myself.
It most likely be a lot “uglier” of an event because at least 1, and possibly 3-4 more, would be immediately double-tapped and stone-cold, graveyard dead with an immediate mag reload. We spend a great deal of time at the range going thru various bad guy scenarios...some such as this exact one.
But on the other hand, I wouldn’t be within a mile of any feral thug protest/riot if I could, in any way, avoid it.

Exactly....that is a fact many folks overlook.
I carry a Taurus G2C, $299 or less. Easy to conceal/carry, relatively high capacity, very accurate and has been 100% reliable for well over 1000 rounds now. It goes with me everywhere.
IF, God forbid, I ever have to use it, they can keep it...I could care less at that point.

Interesting. I haven’t been on a skateboard in decades, but as far as I knew, all skateboards have used plastic wheels for a long time now, ever since pressed-clay wheels went out. Steel wheels don’t have a lot of traction.
