Living in Seattle's 'CHOP' zone: Peaceful vibes but noisy at times

SEATTLE - It’s been nearly one week now since protesters took over a six-block stretch of Capitol Hill in a move to amplify the Black Lives Matter movement and push for police reform and defunding.

On Sunday, one of the busiest days at “CHOP,” or Capitol Hill Organized/Occupied Protest, the community and the intrigue both continued to grow with huge crowds showing up to check out the gathering that’s created national buzz.

For those who live nearby, “CHOP” is a new part of their daily lives.

“It’s been super peaceful,” said Lindsey Teschner. “Everyone has been really nice. They get quiet around 11 o’clock at night and I can sleep.”

Teschner lives just one block away from the intersection that’s hosted speakers, DJs and at times, live music.

“I walked through actually this morning. Was offered a face mask, hand sanitizer. A bunch of ‘hellos’ and ‘good mornings,’” she said.

“You are always going to get someone who will turn it into something that it’s not.”

Residents are keeps pushing and the nutter station peddles the big lie .

If you think a Warlord named RAZ along with his tribal junta’s running
around pointing guns and pistols at people is peaceful you have a screw loose.

High price to pay for negotiating with terrorists. Then again, handing your lunch money over to the thug always stops the bullying, right?

Meet the author of this Marxist propaganda: Cole Miller joined the KOMO News team as a reporter in September of 2019. No stranger to the Pacific Northwest, Cole spent the last four years reporting and anchoring in Portland at KOIN. It was there he covered the devastating Eagle Creek Fire, protests and riots following the 2016 election, a deadly shooting at Umpqua Community College, the 41-day armed occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Burns and issues of homelessness and housing. He also traveled to North Dakota to cover the controversy surrounding the Standing Rock pipeline project, to Hawaii for Hurricane Olivia, to Phoenix as the Ducks’ basketball team played in the Final Four, Northern Idaho to cover extremist preppers and British Columbia to profile hate groups.: Cole Miller

People have been very nice except when a white guy tried to preach and was attacked and strangled by a black guy, or when the blacks demanded a vegetable garden just for themselves, or when they had to call the fire dept. because they were too dumb to put out a contained dumpster fire or when the homeless took all their food or...
