Why was the cop fired then?
I saw this on the first day, and have been wondering what the folks here who tell us that suspects pretty much get what they deserve for not following police’s orders think about it.
Coupled with the autopsy findings the jury will be challenged to convict
1. The police officer apparently used a method of restraint which was authorized by his department.
2. What Floyd did before his arrest very much so will explain why such a harsh form of restraint was used.
What part of handcuffed and unconscious do you not understand? You are seriously arguing a 3 minute beating of a citizen in that state by a government agent is justified? Have you lost your mind?
If the Americans of African Descent really want justice, they should find Floyds meth dealer.
Ive been warning a few bigots on the internet that is is a fools errand and political kamikaze mission to support these dirty cops. These cops are going to hang and justifiably so.
I’m not defending the cops. Far from it. I’m trying to focus on the facts at hand and as they come in. The court of public opinion is an emotional beast, as your post demonstrates. A court of law operates under different rules.
Well said!
“And the knee to the neck was acceptable police procedure.”
You’d be okay with it if it were someone you love being held down like that until they died?
It’s acceptable procedure, right? Nothing personal. They’re just going to pile on to your loved one because it’s what they do and if your son/brother/father dies then that’s just too bad.
That would also make a great epitaph: “It was acceptable police procedure”
It is.
Once again, it doesnt matter what Mr. Floyd did before he was killed. It does not excuse what the police officers did.
Odd thing for a free speech absolutist to say, but once you're completely past principle and on to tribal blood lust I suppose it's to be expected.
I'm on record of being hard on the cops over the yrs....I just want the whole story....
George Floyd may have been the match that ignited all this insurrection, but he has nothing to do with what is going on now.
Truth.
Well, what matters is that the Jury will see it. Had he gotten into the car, he’d be alive today. Do what the Police tell you and don’t resist. Instead of ratcheting down the tension, he caused it to increase. That’s exactly what the defense will be saying.
Now, that doesn’t excuse what the cop did. He still used excessive force. What this may do, is prevent him from being convicted of murder. Which in a sense, would be a disaster because they’ll burn down the city after that verdict.
There’s video of the moments before, also, which show him walking along the building front, falling down several times with the arriving cops gently pulling him back to his feet.
Something was going wrong with him long before the cops got there.
I agree, this is irrelevant. I hate Chauvin for what he did, his actions have given so much power to evil people.
I think you're completely misreading how this is going to go. Two words why: JURY NULLIFICATION.
The evidence either way in this case isn't going to matter one bit.
The jury pool has been poisoned by the lamestream media, the riots and looting have been justified by every liberal talking head out there, the "conservative media" has caved completely (exception: Tucker Carlson, Mark Levine, Hannity and Laura Ingraham)and American's are simply worn out from going manufactured crisis to manufactured crisis to manufactured crisis.
I seriously doubt you'll find a jury in the world that'll vote "not guilty" on Chauvin and the three officers who stood by and did nothing simply because everyone wants this over with.
Not saying that's my attitude on it, it is however what I hear among my friends and when I'm out in public.
Another video clip that didn’t show the whole thing.
They don’t blame the cop, they blame Trump voters, WE killed him, don’cha know?
