They are afraid of canines, don’tcha know.
Dogs are so last century.
Tear gas, pepper spray, rubber bullets, stuns guns, etc.
21st Century technology.
I sure the mayors or PDs are afraid of the optics.
Canines would be extremely effective.
Think if they’d had had K-9s to clear D.C. yesterday afternoon, it would have been clear in 2 minutes but oh, get the fainting couch!
I think they do not want to use dogs because of the Optics.
It would evoke images of Bull Connor and his police dogs in the sixties being used on civil rights protesters.
The Liberals would have a meltdown at the sight of canines being used against rioters.
I hate to say it but I think there is a strong fear of the left in this country, and what the leftist reaction would be to certain attempts to quell these rioters. There is a fear of what Chris Cuomo and Anderson Cooper and Don Lemon will say about them.

I was kinda hoping for mounted patrol. Just let a horse tapdance on one of the more violent idiot protesters. Would make great entertainment.

Because Dogs were used to supress black civil rights marches in the south in the 50-60’s. The optics of angry dogs being used against predominately black crowds would be horrible.
Forget dogs. Deblasio wont bring out the mounted police.
Where are the water canons?
This is not your grandfather’s riot police. This is the kinder, gentler, PC riot police. I am not saying to mow them down with .50 caliber heavy machine guns, but engaging in violent protest and looting should result in some physicl pain at the very least.
You want a peaceful protest? Get a permit and stick to the areas you say you are going to be in. Everybody else will be assumed to be involved in looting.
