Everywhere you go, there is nowhere to go. The closure of many public conveniences as part of the coronavirus lockdown is forcing a rethink of the way Britons relieve themselves away from home.
“The way the world is going, the traditional public convenience is becoming a thing of the past,” said Raymond Martin, managing director of the British Toilet Association, which is advising dozens of councils and companies on the problems of maintaining safe washroom facilities at a time of acute anxiety about the lethally infectious virus.
A coming revolution in lavatory design may spell the end of the urinals that have enabled men to come and go in a fraction of the time it takes women to queue for comparatively fewer facilities.
Dreary interiors of ageing facilities may have to have their “guts ripped out”, to be replaced with gender-neutral cubicles, automatic sensors, one-way traffic and other infection-beating “touchless” technologies, said Martin.

Houston has so-called potty parity and it doesn’t mean equal number of facilities for men and women. It means 2:1 ratio for women to men.
Bring back the trough!
And women laugh at men when they see them in long lines at sports stadiums.

If urinals were a health problem, the Romans would have known about it.
Urinals are probably more hygienic. You’re not really touching anything (unlike siting on a toilet). Though I do prefer the motion activated sensors. The only real danger with urinals is the occasional splash back.
As it stands, even WITH splash guards/privacy walls between urinals, public spaces are eliminating every other urinal to “promote social distancing”.
Might as well just give everyone a stall. Of course there are a lot of nasty surfaces in a stall including the seat. Everything gets atomized flushing the lid-less toilet.
Get a rip. We will survive this virus just like we’ve survived millions of other viruses.

My elementary school (built in the 20s) had that. Still the weirdest darn thing I’d ever seen.
We’ll absolutely survive the virus (well, 99.995% of us anyways). We won’t survive the societal transformation the statists are bringing and blaming on “the virus” without a massive fight.
There was just a recent story about how toilets have aerosolized drops and splashes on people. Drom both using them and then flushing them. Most public ones dont have lids so lots of stuff gets whipped up into the air when you flush.
Then seat sanitary conditions are always an issue...

This may be the most retarded coronavirus story I’ve read to date. Urinals are contact-free and require less time spent in the restroom. If anything, they are far less conducive to spreading disease.
Feminists have been pushing to have men sit down to urinate for years for some ludicrous reason.
