An international team of astronomers has discovered a close-in super-Earth exoplanet in the HD 164922 planetary system.
HD 164922 is a bright G9-type star located approximately 72 light-years away in the constellation of Hercules.
Also known as Gliese 9613 or LHS 3353, the star is slightly smaller and less massive than the Sun and is 9.6 billion years old.
HD 164922 is known to host two massive planets: the temperate sub-Neptune HD 164922c and the Saturn-mass planet HD 164922b in a wide orbit.
The sub-Neptune is 12.9 times more massive than Earth, and orbits the parent star once every 75.8 days at a distance of 0.35 AU (astronomical units).
The Saturn-like planet has a mass 0.3 times that of Jupiter and an orbital period of 1,201 days at a distance of 2.2 AU...
The team detected an additional inner super-Earth with a minimum mass of 4 times that of the Earth.
Named HD 164922d, the planet orbits the star once every 12.5 days at a distance of 0.1 AU.

There are a few more I'll probably post soon, the X-Planets is the least active of the ping lists I manage.

Let’s send Bill Gate$ there.
“Lets send Bill Gate$ there.”
Whoa, Paladin2, remember “Have spaceship, will travel.” If the spaceship is available that means there is room for AOC, Her Thighness, the Emanuel brothers, John Kerry, Nanny Pelosi and on and on. A spaceship can probably accommodate lots of Lefties, especially with outside seating. After all, never let a crisis go to waste.
Super-Earth exoplanet HD 164922d ain’t the kind of place to raise your kids
In fact it’s hot as hell
And there’s no one there to raise them if you did
And I think it’s gonna be a long long time
‘Till touch down brings me round again to find
I’m not the man they think I am at home
Oh no no no I’m a rocket man
Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone
But Christmas would come twice a month!
Can Obama go with him?
sadly that super earth was once very hospitable, until that is SUV’s were created there- then everyone and everything burned up
The years pass by fast enough on this planet. I'm not going!
I just got in my Challenger and i’m heading out there. I’ve adjust it to fly.
I’ll get back to you in 100000000000000000000000000000000000000 years :)
What determines a planet to be a “Super Earth”? A mostly rocky planet with a relatively shallow atmosphere? This one is 12.9 times as massive as Earth, and has an “equilibrium temperature” of 293 deg. F. Balmy, say I!
I suppose that environment is, at least, pretty rough on the Coronavirus.
Boiled down, a super Earth is an exoplanet that is between the Earth (and actually smaller than than Earth, I’m guessin’) but smaller than the Uranian-Neptunian “ice giants”. Oh, and it has to wear the cape.

whoops, that should be "...an exoplanet that is between..."
Even "substantially lower" (mass) is a bit of a loose constraint, I guess: 12.9x Earth vs. 14.5x does not seem a whole lot lower than Uranus, tho' we're getting there with Neptune (17x), I suppose. I propose 10x to 14x as "Super Duper Earths". Heheh. *Looking into this, I was reminded how cold Uranus atmosphere is, as low as -225 deg. C and 560 mph winds. Yikes!
Figuring out the composition remains (mostly) beyond current technology; about the only things that can be estimated are size (brightness and sometimes diameter) and with a system of this kind, the mass of the bodies (including the star) can be ballparked, and then slowly refined. And you're right about the definition, there appear to be as many defs of "Super-Earths" as there are astronomers. :^) Smaller than Neptune and Uranus (which are not the same size anyway) isn't much of a constraint. :^)
