Are these businesses rebelling against Polis’s measures, or are they allowed to open? I don’t like wearing masks, but I still wear them in stores in case I have a viral load — I wish to attenuate that in my exhalations.

Soooooooo, all I can say is, no matter how careful the businesses are trying to be, some of these customers are idiots.*

*No, I don’t expect customers to wear masks in the restaurant (top picture), but that one woman seeming to be yelling up close to the other seems to have left her mind at home.

I saw pictures of the mostly-Black protest of Ahmaud Arbary’s killing at the Georgia State Capitol. Most of these people were wearing masks and standing a fairly safe distance from each other. Contrast that with the mostly-White “yahoos” protesting to end the lockdowns — crowding together, more of them seemingly without masks, creating that potential “super-spreader” situation with their crowd in the MI statehouse.

I probably am going to order this thing. It would be easy to make but I dont sew and dont want to deal with it. I figure I can wear it in the early hours without it being too hot for a little while. she has a visor version too
I think it would also come in handy if I have to call in some kind of repair worker.

Good charts for inmates and officers at state prisons. TDCJ is reporting big increase for CV.

Texarkana, Huntsville and Amarillo units are topping the ranks for officers.

Excellent explanation. I wanna add one more thing to this hypothesis. The individuals who are G6PD(Gluose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase enzyme) deficient which is responsible for the production of “reduced electron carrier NADPH” in the first reaction of Pentose Phosphate Pathway (PPP) which recycles the oxidised GSSG to GSH by Glutathione reductase. They are the ones who are susceptible to COVID-19 as they lack this enzyme in their gene which leads to build up of oxidative stress. There are significant population of these individuals.

But this article worries me, particularly if considering NAC as preventative or precautionary. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6562654/ NAC interferes with intracellular metabolic processes by repressing glycolysis and increasing mitochondrial functioning . On the other hand, antioxidant treatment may increase survival of cancer/precancer cells administered after malignant transformation. The antioxidant supplementation in tumor-bearing mice was associated with accelerated cancer progression and increased metastasis in some preclinical studies. The combination of N-acetylcysteine (NAC) and soluble vitamin E analog Trolox increased the migration and invasive properties of human malignant melanoma cells in an endogenous mouse model of malignant melanoma. Similarly, N-acetylcysteine and vitamin E accelerated lung cancer progression in mice by reducing survival and increased tumor progression by disrupting the ROS-p53 axis.
