Corona Virus Daily Thread #50 COVID-19 5/04/2020
I refuse both.
So that means all LIBS have Chinese Death virus ?
So that means all LIBS have Chinese Death virus ?
From the local CBS news this evening - Nordstroms is opening but will not accept cash. Wish there was one near here and I’d sure the pants off them for not accepting legal tender. Any clothing tried on will not be put back on the rack for 48 hours. Apparently, their clothing is magical since the virus lives on most things for 3+ days.
Macy’s clothing is even more magical so they’re putting it back in 24 hours.
so
IRISH DEMOCRACY: Something that can’t go on forever, won’t. The lockdown can’t go on forever, and it isn’t. In Tennessee, we’re following a reasonably well-thought-out plan for reopening things. But a friend from Manhattan writes that she’s seeing stores, coffee shops, etc., just spontaneously reopening in spite of the orders. Not with loud defiance, just ignoring the government. It’s “Irish democracy,” and we’re going to see a lot more of it.
The shutdowns were sold as “two weeks to slow the spread,” and “flattening the curve,” and so on, and lots of people thought that was sensible, and it was. A two-month (or longer) shutdown is a different animal, and nobody consented to that. So now people are, mostly silently, withdrawing their consent from the state.

I asked the VA to test me, they refused because I was asymptomatic
what makes you think we are at 68K?
Here is an interesting hypothesis with authors suggesting further study. Some of the comments bash the hypothesis
COVID-19: Beta-Thalassemia Subjects Immunised?
https://www.preprints.org/manuscript/202004.0349/v1
” In this study, by a multiple linear regression, we have analyzed the evolution of COVID-19 infection in three Italian regions (Puglia, Sardinia, Sicilia) with different beta-thalassemic prevalences, in order to search a link. The results have showed that betathalassemic heterozygote population prevalence is correlated to immunity against COVID-19, by a regression. This paper is only for academic discussion, the hypotheses and conclusions needs to be confirmed by further research .”
The first thing you have to determine is does Wuhan Flu really do a heme attack on the 1 beta chain of hemoglobin
Someone here theorized that I might actually be able to be handle Covid-19 because my body is use to what Covid-19 does to you. I would be THRILLED if that is the case...but I still wore two masks and goggles when I had to go to the store today...
it looks like a lot of controversy of that 1 beta hemoglobin paper

so lets take a minute and think
The hemoglobin story is getting bashed with people saying no evidence and it is an ARDS disease
BUT
We know from Medcram that something else is going on.
Vascular Surgeon in Ireland Views: The COVID-19 Cytokine Storm & the Novel Truth
Medcram’s line of thinking makes sense to me. Patients have low blood oxygen level but their lungs can inflate. It seems that Drs say that is not typically seen in ARDS
“For now, recruits who have had covid are rejected from enlisting.”
The virus must do something more to survivors then we know.. Something permanent

I think we just don’t know at this time.
There is a thread for you, Flubro

“Yes. It’s been written about, and I certainly experienced it and perhaps I can share an insight. I am unsure but am guessing that the cranial nerve responsible for taste and smell may not be affected by coronavirus. Early on, I noticed a biofilm in my mouth, and I couldn’t taste very well at all, even though I knew I should be eating and trying to maintain my nutrition. Physicians at the hospital did examine my mouth, but no one saw any pathology. When I finally coughed up sputum, the now infamous black sputum, it grew candida, a fungus associated with the loss of taste but not necessarily smell. My speculation is that this virus immunosuppresses people. Remember my white blood count was very low and remained low for quite a while, so one is susceptible to a supra-infection, in this case a fungal infection possibly causing this clinical finding and concern.
Remember the Roto Rooter jingle?
“Keep your distance out; your hads clean!
And you won’t end up in quarantine!
Covid-19... Covid-19... “
Yeh, I know you’re just here for fun.
But if you are so triggered by masks consider there may be an at-risk person at the wearers home.
Masks help then, if used correctly.
It’s an individual choice. I’m moderately at risk but in a low risk area so I don’t. About 1 in 10 around here do. Some I know have frail elderly t home.
and once again, I will say that Dr had an insane Ferritin count of 18,000
When you look at various scientific disease studies and articles that discuss ferritin in the past you dont see numbers like that. I thought it might be a typo because even 1800 is high
