As of today, so many months into the crisis, governors are STILL too stupid to fully utilize the country’s testing abilities.
They haven’t learned anything.

Trump PUBLICLY downplayed the threat as he hauled our fat, lazy, soft chestnuts out of the fire AGAIN.
The only saving grace is that the Democrats will be wiped out in the election.

Another thing to consider is at what point in time did he know that this was an intentional act by China. Q explains that they have sigint and humint telling them it came from the lab. What else does he know and when did he know it.
That calculation may also have played into his decision making, vis a vis his tone and actions.
So we can't assume he was blind-sided. I see his early attempts to not only downplay the bug, but to kinda sorta hint that it was a hoax. He quickly backed off that truism when he correctly assumed that's just what the derps wanted him to do.
Also, he was most likely aware that it was a bio attack, but couldn't say for the reasons Q explained last night. Or was it yesterday.
World War III is not an option for him at this time. And it will not become necessary as I explained in a post last night. China has lost that war before it has even begun. They know, Trump knows it, and the great and powerful Bagster knows it.

We don't see enough mud here to give it it's own room.
On the serious note, agreed on the jobs folks already have. But, it's also going to he an economic impact as business is moved back out of China. Sure, some of that will go to other nations who are more truly allied with us, but there will be new/old business here too.
My thought on this is that as we approach election those jobs will be an added asset. The push for mandatory high minimum wage will be somewhat offset by fresh jobs which will likely pay more than Mickey D's or Wally World. Hopefully some of those traditional entry level jobs can then be available for high school or college kids. All levels of workers will be able to have a little satisfaction in better job/better pay. That sure can't hurt come November. And President Trump has the skills to move that fast.
I've been pleasantly surprised by people in blue states protesting to open up again. We conservatives usually aren't prone to protest. When I make treks to Austin to be political we always remind everyone that conservatives don't show up because we are the ones working. I've been really glad that this shutdown has proven this adage right. These folks are now forced to stay home so they have time to get out and be heard. It tickles me to see this.
One thing I've seen nobody mention, and I've always thought it was a thing.
Unions.
Part of the reason that so much of American manufacturing was union demands of higher wages. Even as a teenager I could see that they would kill their golden goose, and they eventually did. I'm all for higher wages, but I'm also a fan of economic liberty and free markets.
When the workers control the means of production, that's just as bad as the government controlling it.
When all our manufacturing comes home, we will run into the same problem.
Anyway, those are just my thoughts. It's a balancing act, really. I would prefer we made all our own stuff, but I hate to see the workers destroy the goose and drive up the cost of everything for the consumer. There has to be a happy medium.
p.s. I really, really, really hate unions. Especially government unions.

Every single American means of handling this new virus was obsolete.
Every process, every system, every supply distribution method.
Because of POLITICS, governors and mayors enabled the spreading of the infection.
Because of POLITICS, the American press may as well have become an arm of the Iranian mullahs.
The press created panic and LIED about every single aspect of the infection and Trump’s responses.
Finally, Trump was caught in the worst double-blind of any president in American history.
Choose the American people or choose the economy.
Did he crack up?
NO.
He went to war, like the happy warrior he is.
You need to appreciate the unprecedented catastrophes that converged.
The nature of the virus, the lying of the Chinese, the sabotage of the Democrats and the press, the obsolescence of our means to handle this, and the INSTANT shutting off the economy.
Trump has had to improvise responses to ALL OF THOSE DISASTERS.

This notion that Trump should have simply let the virus run its course is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard.
They point to SWEDEN—God help us all—as a model.
GUESS WHAT?
The Swedes have NO CHOICE but to let all the infected people die.
Before COVID-19, their health-care system was nonfunctional due to a massive shortage of doctors.
So the Swedes are CULLING.
Even if Trump were as coldhearted as the Swedish government, we’d STILL have to hospitalize up to 2.2 million people before they died.
Every flu season takes a massive toll on our resources.
Last year, there were about 500,000 hospitalizations for the flu.
YOU’RE DEMANDING THAT WE MORE THAN QUADRUPLE THAT NUMBER.
Do you see how utterly moronic you’re being?

Because COVID-19 is FAR MORE communicable than the flu, hospitals would be forced to KEEP PEOPLE OUT.
So you’re demanding that we essentially DESTROY the American health-care system.
And then you LIE and say that the economy “has been killed.”
No.
The economy is in hibernation.
TRUMP HAD NO CHOICE.
You need to get your head on straight about what’s happening. Mortality rate in NOT THE WAY TO LOOK AT THIS.
You need to look at TREATMENT.
It’s not possible to treat people infected with COVID-19 and carry on with all other medical treatments.
WITHOUT MITIGATION, THE ENTIRE HEALTH-CARE SYSTEM BECOMES DEVOTED TO CARING FOR PATIENTS WITH COVID-19.

Why does the average American not have more than $400 in the bank at any one time?

I think that’s a very charitable view of the situation. To me, the derpy Governors in the US are the ones that are doing the SHUTDOWNS. Here in my state, the Governor was badgered daily by the press of the URBAN areas (DemocRAT strongholds)for a state wide shutdown.
He finally caved for a few weeks. However, I didn’t do anything less than I was already doing—Using common sense to avoid a contagious disease is not something I need an edict to do.
Derps/Dems/NWO types are gonna take advantage of any crisis and they have sure shown their ugly fascist faces in some of the blue areas.

That's always been one of our side's greatest problems. Good fights fair and, because they are good, they fight within the rules. Evil, being evil, will break any rule, do anything, lie cheat and steal to win. And they will pull your hair and kick you when you're down.
How do you win a fight under those circumstances? I'll tell you. You allow your fighters to fight, and you don't handcuff them with your purity and goodiness.
The soft and good must allow the hard and good to do the job, and they must support them.
In Donald Trump for example, we finally have a hard fighter, but even here on FreeRepublic, there are those who decry his fighting style, combativeness, and aggressive nature. The would cripple him and send him into battle unarmed. And we would lose. Again. And the derps would march on over our battered bodies. Again.
So let our side get a little bit evil. Let The Donald have his mean tweets and his swagger. And accept and support all warriors who are on your side, despite their unsavory background, tattoos, youth, gayness (Milo), or any other attribute that offends your sensibilities.
The time for proper manners is over. At least until the battle is won.
