Here’s what OSWEDA had to say a few weeks back:

Dear @TheJuanWilliams:

Let me mansplain what @realDonaldTrump did.

You will be forced to agree.
Trump’s early actions show that he was totally aware of the potential catastrophe that we were facing.

And he was ALSO totally aware that we were completely unprepared to stave it off.

Trump downplayed the threat because there was no upside to telling the truth.
We had no idea what this virus was or how it was spread.

AND.

It was clear that the states had failed to stockpile medical equipment.

Leftists think that centralized government is magic, but it isn’t.
JUST TODAY, @VP and Dr. Birx pointed out that the states are still not using 20 PERCENT of the Roche Amplicor 500 testing and 75 PERCENT of the Abbot Laboratories m2000 RealTime System.
Because of the apparently indestructible incompetence of our governors—NOT TRUMP—the feds are having to send TEAMS FROM WASHINGTON to help states learn how to contact private laboratories.

This is an absolute disgrace.
Trump DID downplay COVID-19 publicly because he knew he had a window of time in which to get things ready before he told us the trouble we were in.

Is THIS what you wanted him to say, Juan?

“We’re facing a pandemic, and we’re totally unprepared.”

“It’s impossible for the federal government to provide all the equipment that the states were supposed to stockpile, so until we create everything from scratch, you’re all just going to have to die.”
This hideous witch accused Trump of not doing anything to prepare for the pandemic.
WHAT COULD HE DO?

As of today, so many months into the crisis, governors are STILL too stupid to fully utilize the country’s testing abilities.

They haven’t learned anything.
And the press is openly seditious.

So get it through your thick skull:

Trump PUBLICLY downplayed the threat as he hauled our fat, lazy, soft chestnuts out of the fire AGAIN.

The only saving grace is that the Democrats will be wiped out in the election.

Trump PUBLICLY downplayed the threat as he hauled our fat, lazy, soft chestnuts out of the fire AGAIN.

Another thing to consider is at what point in time did he know that this was an intentional act by China. Q explains that they have sigint and humint telling them it came from the lab. What else does he know and when did he know it.

That calculation may also have played into his decision making, vis a vis his tone and actions.

So we can't assume he was blind-sided. I see his early attempts to not only downplay the bug, but to kinda sorta hint that it was a hoax. He quickly backed off that truism when he correctly assumed that's just what the derps wanted him to do.

Also, he was most likely aware that it was a bio attack, but couldn't say for the reasons Q explained last night. Or was it yesterday.

World War III is not an option for him at this time. And it will not become necessary as I explained in a post last night. China has lost that war before it has even begun. They know, Trump knows it, and the great and powerful Bagster knows it.

p.s. Hillary F'd up when she didn't murder every CIA asset in China. The cow is always leaving something undone.

Mises Wire
A Protest from France
https://mises.org/wire/protest-france

“...I think that these policies are understandable and well
intentioned. Like many other commentators, I also think that
they are wrongheaded, harmful, and potentially disastrous.
An old French proverb says that the way to hell is plastered
with good intentions. Unfortunately, it seems as though the
present policies are no exception.

My protest concerns the basic ideas that have motivated
these policies. They were clearly enunciated by President
Macron in his TV address of March 12. Here he made three
claims that I found most intriguing. “
...
My protest does not concern the medical assessment of the
COVID-19 virus and its propagation. It concerns the public
policies designed to confront this problem.
As far as I can see, these policies are based on one
extraordinary claim and two fundamental errors. I will
discuss them in turn.
...
“An Extraordinary Claim

The extraordinary claim is that wartime measures such as
confinement and shutdowns of commercial activity are
justified by the objective of “saving lives” that are at
risk because of the burgeoning coronavirus pandemic.”
...

A Grave Error: Rule by Experts
The first fundamental error is to hold that is that the
experts know and all the rest of us should trust them and
do as they tell us.
...

Another Momentous Error: Neglect of Economics
...It consists in thinking that civil and economic liberties
are some sort of a consumers’ good—maybe even a luxury good—
that can only be allowed and enjoyed in good times. When the
going gets tough, the government needs to take over and all
others should step back—into confinement if necessary.
...
Conclusion
The lockdown policies are understandable as a panic reaction
of political leaders who want to do the right thing and who
have to make decisions with incomplete information. But upon
reflection—and certainly in hindsight—they are not good
policy.
...

Lots more at the link...
