I suspect that a milder strain was on the scene prior to our knowledge of the outbreak. There were certainly some people traveling back and forth between here and Hubei prior to that knowledge.
If the so-called L-strain had been here from the first, we’d have wound up with slammed hospitals all over the place by now.
If we had shut down mostly on a county-by-county bases, this economy might still be on crutches, rather than on life support.
I WILl put on those hateful masks when I’m out and about shopping — precisely in case I have a viral load — so virus in my exhalations will be attenuated in the relatively confined space of a grocery store or Wal-Mart, but I won’t hide under the bed, either. I’ll be mask free and staying away from others when exercising in the open air. :-)
Also will take my temp before going out, from now on. I’m seriously forgetful in that area.

Agree, as long as they are cc’d, per FR rules.
I think so too.
Our knowledge of this virus is so young that it seems saying anything concrete about it, at his point in time, is foolish.
And it’s especially hard to trust anyone on hydroxyC, because TDS is real, and it makes people utterly insane and totally untrustworthy.
I dont know why people respond to me repeatedly about hiding under the bed. I have never suggested anyone do that. Not even close.
I have never even suggested the lockdowns go on and on. I have always thought it will be a back and forth - lock down/open up/lock down/open up.
My issue is none of that, it is about people refusing to wear masks to protect others because muh rights.
It was on other threads over a month ago and I dont have the time to try to track those threads down, nor do I want to pick a fight. My point is, people need to take expert advice with a grain of salt.
someone brought up fruit bats as it related to vitamin C..and why lack of Vitamin C was important giving bats the ability to harbor virus

Italy - Approximately 154 doctors have died from COVID-19
https://portale.fnomceo.it/elenco-dei-medici-caduti-nel-corso-dellepidemia-di-covid-19/
Using flu data from the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) mortality surveillance system, the most intense flu season was 2017-18 which tallied 15,430 coded Influenza deaths between weeks 40 and 20. The CDC estimated the flu burden for that season at 61,000 (range 46,000-95,000). The highest flu week was week 3 of 2018 with 1,625 deaths. Using the CDC estimate as a guide, this corresponded with an 8 year maximum of approximately 6,500 flu deaths in a week. This past week we saw 12,945 reported coronavirus deaths.

Eastern Virginia Medical School develops treatment protocol that achieves “near uniform success” in treatment of COVID-19. Points blame at WHO/CDC guidelines for high mortality rates.
Prophylaxis
While there is very limited data (and none specific for COVID-19), the following cocktail may have a role in the prevention/mitigation of COVID-19 disease. While there is no high level evidence that this cocktail is effective; it is cheap, safe and widely available.
