Lets monkey around with dangerous bat gain of function experiments. What could possibly go wrong

https://jvi.asm.org/content/82/4/1899
Difference in Receptor Usage between Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) Coronavirus and SARS-Like Coronavirus of Bat Origin

In this study, a human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-based pseudovirus system was employed to address these issues. Our results indicated that the SL-CoV S protein is unable to use ACE2 proteins of different species for cell entry and that SARS-CoV S protein also failed to bind the ACE2 molecule of the horseshoe bat, Rhinolophus pearsonii. However, when the RBD of SL-CoV S was replaced with that from the SARS-CoV S, the hybrid S protein was able to use the huACE2 for cell entry, implying that the SL-CoV S proteins are structurally and functionally very similar to the SARS-CoV S. These results suggest that although the SL-CoVs discovered in bats so far are unlikely to infect humans using ACE2 as a receptor, it remains to be seen whether they are able to use other surface molecules of certain human cell types to gain entry. It is also conceivable that these viruses may become infectious to humans if they undergo N-terminal sequence variation, for example, through recombination with other CoVs, which in turn might lead to a productive interaction with ACE2 or other surface proteins on human cells.

The economy is not limping its on life support and countless thousands have already lost their livlihoods. Mitigation has not been proven to work or slow anything - just because different areas experience their peaks at different times does not mean the curve is different for their area it just starts earlier or later. The virus is here and real. The economic and social damage inflicted by the so called motivation efforts do not change that fact and have not been proven to slow the spread. What has been proven is they add onto the pain and are actually worse than the virus itself. Even if you believe the worst estimated the virus has killed 60,000 people. Mitigation efforts have killed 30 million jobs.

The interesting story that China is using to blame the US is plausible. I dont happen to believe it

Fort Detrick was shut down over safety issues.
Then military goes to China

Then the outbreak happens.

This just as easily could have been a Fort Detrick experiment that escaped.

There is a poster here who goes into various labs in that area. He said there are all kinds of chinese lab experiments going on in that area that people dont admit to. Dont remember his exact words.

I just think this happened the other way around.

Wuhan Bat Lady experiment gone wrong.

“Numbers of dead alone indicate we here in the US have it worse than other countries for unknown reasons.”

Many other countries are not reporting honestly. That’s the first reason for the discrepancy. China, Iran, other authoritarian regimes saving face. Italy, Spain, Germany and many others that you would expect, in many cases, to be honest, simply are not being so.

Proportionately to population, the US is doing better than many other countries, even without honest numbers from those others.

Given the Chinese IFITM3 issue...and the fact that they weren’t using the right kind of treatment...(as per a frontline Dr on texags)..and that they were at the center of the outbreak..

Their death toll has to be higher.

Are you aware of what is going on in Brazil ? They are drawing up articles of impeachment. The president has had two key allies resign. Ignorance will not be bliss for him.

this article is WAY WAY over my head but it goe in depth about Choloroquine, GSH, H20..and things seen in the Medcram lecture about how COVID is a vascular issiue

Some of you scientists might find some clues as to why Trump’s drug might work for people without hemoglobin disorders, etc and why malaria drugs seem to work.

It seems to me scientists might gain some insight by looking at how disorders evolved from malaria deal with the drugs to treat malaria.

there is a reason everything seems to loop back to malaria

https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/pdf/10.1080/13510002.1997.11747104

and I will remind people that the lung Dr who almost went on a ventilator had a unbelievable ferritin level. 18000

he took trumps drug and genentechs drug and an HIV drug

A poem . .. to break up the Coronamontomy for a moment.

Hardscrabble
(for Thoreau)

On our little farm, which I rarely leave,
I operate on God’s time.
Instructed by the seasons,
They tell me what to do
When to wake and when to sleep.

If you live far from the city,
the sights and sounds of nature
form the passage of time,
and you feel human ... again.

The pretensions of modernity
slip from your skin.
Your mind is at peace,
your flesh feels the wind.

The dirt in which you toil
to provide your food,
is both the giver of life
and your last bed of repose.

The transition is transparent.
With each step you take,
you sow your spirit and feel your death,
as molecules everywhere tumble to the soil.

Many other countries can’t accurately collect the data even if they wanted to—that includes hard hit countries like Mexico, Ecuador, Brazil.

If President Trump had let the virus run free in the wild we would be Brazil—and we would have a senile corrupt molester Biden as the next president.

No proof of any of that. we do not have brazil’s health care system poverty lack of sanitation level of corruption or any of dozens of other factors that feed into this

Correct. Because our President stood for safety and economy. Our medical system was a joke though. Remember the CDC/P test rollout ? Remember the lack of PPE ? Remember the lack of Ventilators ? Brazil has those same problems, but per capita they are in a much worse situation. You are correct about that.

Our medical system is far from a joke and not even on the same planet as brazil’s. Trump may have erred on what he thought was the side of safety but the lockdown has done nothing. The economy? please. Trump got bad advice and here we are

My answer to those who say: “You can hide under the bed in fear if you want to. I’m a free citizen”:

“You can go to hell if you want to. I’m obeying the Gospel instruction to care about others.”

I am ready to let the hound dogs loose come what may.

Going to go stock up tomorrow and hibernate while this either mutates out or overwhelms the populace with cries of “i wish I had listened..this is hell”

people in chicago are idiots. it will be a nightmare for them since they rely on public transportation

I with you. And it’s gone way past “hide under the bed”, now you will be ridiculed for choosing the simple, selfless act of wearing a mask in public.

I find it interesting that there are people who appear to know more than every government in every affected country in the world. I’m sure if they had been in charge the economy would be just fine and no one would have died except the expendable. Oh well.

I’m thankful that we have a government who values life and not just economy.

Btw, there are some On FR who are fakes. They either are lying about med degrees or have been nowhere near a cv patient. One of them has been caught lying twice twice on FR. This persons knowledge comes from a script, not med school, sad to say.

I recently talked to a lady who goes to my church who is an ICU nurse at a hospital near me who says it is a big deal, they are full, the patients are younger and sicker than she expected and they do believe the 2 week break helped. She also says if everyone, sick and well, would wear masks it would slow it down.

if you have to to go an ER because you think you have covid 19...you might bring this article and ask for this test:

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7131471/

Additionally, we would also like to suggest to test for soluble CD-163 (sCD-163), which represents the activation of macrophages [14,15], the level of which was found to increase in MAS and to parallel the ferritin level [15].

I am going to tell an ER if they are balking because they think insurance wont pay I will sign whatever they want that I will pay for it.

btw, this article talks about Genentech drug that Texags dr thinks will save lives..but hard to get

I am not going to trust these COVID tests...they could test me and say I was negative but I could really have it. Need to find other tests that can pick up concerns before I crash and go on a ventilator
