Corona Virus Daily Thread #49 COVID-19 4/30/2020
Right now nursing homes are required by the feds (enforced by the states) to have windows that _cannot_ open.
This was done to prevent resident from escaping or falling out of the windows.
To get fresh air into these facilities would be a major retrofit project—lots of time and money.
You mean south of I-4, correct?
Jessica Tarlov is whining on “Outnumbered” today about the “gun-wielding” protesters in Michigan. I saw the picture - they weren’t “wielding” them, they were “toting” them, first of all. Second of all, the stupidity lies not in them exercising their 1A and 2A rights, but in crowding into the Statehouse without masks or any attempt to physically distance from each other.
And yes, I’m glad the legisl00ters were scared enough to see the need to wear bulletproof attire. The armed presence undoubtedly helped their House of Delegates decide to reject supporting Karen Whitmer’s authoritarian countermeasures.
Can’t blame ‘em. Who in heck wants to wait aeons to ride the elevator alone? Anybody who can do the stairs should, as they will be as considerate to the people who cannot do them as your sister is.
I guess I should be grateful to the Flu Bros (masks are un-American crowd).
They were a red flag that there were some really crazy folks out there.
Even if they are just one percent of the population, I want to stay as far away as possible from them.
The Walmart senior hour is working great for me. It is 6AM on Tuesdays, so not many folks are awake, and no flu bros are anywhere to be found.
In my limited travels to populated areas here in N CT, everyone seems to be wearing a mask in public areas and practicing great social distancing.
In my very rural town we have zero cases, and everyone is pulling together to keep it that way!
It’s the ‘many people using a shared space’ that’s the problem.
The stairwell will become just as contaminated as the elevator with everyone using the stairs.
Dense housing is an issue. period.
These preliminary studies still give me enough confidence to multiply the official number of cases by 20, rather than 10 for an estimate, as I was doing.
Also that is it being seeded at nursing homes, military installations and food production facilities.
Weird that all these food facilities are being hit at once. All the meat places, Birds Eye, now some cheese places.
Agreed and interesting. Also, I don’t want any Clinton Foundation contact tracing brownshirts anywhere near me.
Perhaps, but it’s all about risk acceptance at this point. I can only do so much and it’s not worth it to me to sacrifice my mental health over these types of details. I won’t treat my home like a biohazard level 4 lab. I wash, clean, sanitize and do what I can. To each his own.
Normals should flick boogers on maskers???
If anybody flicks a booger on me when I’m wearing a mask in a store to protect vulnerable shoppers from picking it up from me, should I be an asymptomatic carrier, the store will need to close down for a deep cleaning after I’m done bashing the offender’s head in with a can of beans. Period.
Then, I will let not my heart be troubled.
Not cheese! Time for the DPA!
Ideally, intimate businesses like barbers and nail salons should be dead last to open.
“As coronavirus pandemic pushes more grocery shoppers online, stores struggle to keep up with demand”

20-39 1%
40-59 8%
60-79 38%
80+ 53%
I’m still putting my mental money on an unfinished Frankenvirus that was accidentally released from the lab.
I’m certainly not getting the Bill Gates “666” Vaccine, but if an independent entity comes out with one, I’ll accept that.
this is what i think as well
then china weaponized it
...or shooting it.
Clever.
Now look at the hospitalization rates for the 40-60yr olds.
Those are your owners, managers, supervisors.
That’s more than 8%.
There are no independent entities in the vaccine world.
Sorry.
Maybe 35-40 years ago?
Not now, certainly.
