ALBANY - Mayor Kathy Sheehan is asking people to reconsider plans to attend a rally Friday to protest the state’s coronavirus quarantine orders.
She's also warning city residents to avoid the area around the state Capitol.
Conservative groups are planning the second rally in as many weeks for Friday afternoon in the city, hoping to pressure Gov. Andrew Cuomo to lighten the restrictions placed on many commercial and social activities. Cuomo announced earlier this week that a drop in coronavirus cases should allow some upstate businesses to reopen by mid-May.
Some city residents were caught off-guard by last week’s protest. Sheehan says she wants to minimize the inconvenience for people who live in the city.
“We don’t want anyone to get hurt and we don’t want anyone to catch the coronavirus,” she said. “I respect their Constitutional right to protest and I empathize with their frustrations.”

have any info on this?..... If I Google it, I’m sure 10 articles will come up from mainstream sources saying negative things about these protests, but probably no info on the actual protest I want to attend.... Thanks for any info you can give me
I wonder if any of the LIB Karens or other LIB nitwits will wake-up to the fact that their electing LIB/Lefty nitwits results in tyranny on many levels? Most likely, they will continue their malignant ways.
Much of that advocacy is happening through an online Facebook group known as REOPEN NY, a petri dish of misinformation and distortions that has garnered more than 11,000 followers in just two weeks. Following last Wednesday’s “Operation Gridlock” protest in Albany, the group is now promoting a statewide day of action on May 1st, including a rally outside City Hall.
