California Gov. Gavin Newsom provided a road map Tuesday for how the state will reopen businesses, schools and childcare facilities with a "phased and thoughtful approach" to support social distancing and prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
He said modifications to the stay-at-home order will occur in four distinct stages, and while specific dates weren't provided, he said "we are weeks, not months away" from making changes if the spread of the coronavirus continues to decline.
Offering more clues into the timeline, Newsom said the state is currently in Stage 1 and will be at Stage 2 within weeks. Stage 4, which marks the return of mass gatherings, is months away.

Interesting. This 4-stage thing must be a top-down thing. State of Maine has almost EXACTLY the same template.
Stage 1 (May): Beginning May 1st
Stage 2 (June): Tentatively beginning June 1st
Stage 3 (July & August): Tentatively beginning July 1st
Stage 4 (Timeline Undetermined): Stage 4 contemplates lifting restrictions and allowing all businesses and activities to resume with appropriate safety precautions.

Time for a taxpayer camp in on Gavin’s back lawn.
The most interesting part to me is that stage four is completely determined based on the Availability of a vaccine or treatment essentially, so that means in California you can kiss goodbye millions and millions of dollars in revenue from sporting events, conventions, etc. for at least the next year if not longer. I wonder how much more he’s going to want to raise taxes on the citizens to pay for that loss, or Beg the federal government to bail him out?
Stage one will be everyone ignoring the governor. There will not be a stage two except maybe on paper.

i’ve got news. from what i saw on the freeways today here in L A things are opening up, with or without Garcetti or Newsom. there should be a plan by now with our low Cali numbers. people don’t need clues: they need the outline. Newsom you have a problem- and you created it.
