Its just the flu, bro.
A few things helping to end this lockdown:
1. Federalism - people see freedom the next state over and they want it.
2. Protests - this is providing pressure on politicians.
Something else that is essential to ending these lockdowns is changing these CDC guidelines. These guidelines are the cover for the tyrannical state level politicians. But Fauci wont want to go against the scientific guidelines. Something needs to change there. These CDC guidelines also affect businesses worried about liability and Fearbra moms worried their children will die.
Good news - Purdue says classes are in in the fall because CV poses no risk to students.

Ping. Freepmail Impimp to go ping list.
Living for the second WV cracks back open.
As of May 1, 0 deaths projected.
“After May 8, 2020, relaxing social distancing may be possible with containment strategies that include testing, contact tracing, isolation, and limiting gathering size”
WV can have all my business, now.
Thank goodness the dems and their press stooges arent too bright. Bidens best chance to win is to denounce Trumps lockdown and to champion the Biden approach used during the Swine Flu pandemic. Had we followed this approach, do absolutely nothing, we would be much better off. As the layers of this cluster are peeled away, the do nothing Biden approach looks better and better.
Ya’ll play nice. I’m off to spread a little hate and discontent. ;)
Doesnt sound like lockdown really ends at all on 8 May in WV.
The ever-extending lockdown.
I saw that the MI legislature stripped Whitmer of the power to unilaterally declare a lockdown, extend it, decide whats non-essential, etc. Shell veto the bill, of course, but I think consideration should be given across the country to stripping governors of this unilateral power.
Make the governors appeal to the legislature, dont permit it for more than two weeks, dont permit them to keep on changing their deadlines, and dont permit them to issue orders that violate Constitutional guarantees. Make them appeal to the legislature for any action, which would require them to present a case for it, give the people a say in it and keep the governors from using it for political grandstanding (in this case, Whitmer and Cuomo showing how much they hate Trump by opposing everything he says, even if it means dragging their states into bankruptcy and poverty).
I think I understand your point about “doing nothing.” I read that as “treating it like a standard flu season.” Where largely effortless precautions are generally taken.
But if we had “done nothing”, as Dr. Fauci used the term, he says we’d have dead in the range of 1.1—2.2 million.
To me, knowing Dr. Fauci and his love of science, medicine, and strict definitions, that would be the dead if we had done _absolutely_ nothing. But no one does _absolutely_ nothing. People call in sick, take medication, visit a doctor, make sure to cover their mouth and nose when they sneeze, wash their hands, refuse shaking hands during flu season, etc. Some are better at it than others. No one’s perfect.
I want to know the numbers if we had taken standard precautions, as we do in every flu season. Numbers might(!) be noticeably up over previous seasons, but I sincerely doubt that it would be the staggering number Fauci and friends used to stampede the administration into the actions that were taken.
All that is moot, now. States are beginning to open up, so we’ll see how that turns out.
Today’s discussion point (if you choose to respond):
Government models are projecting a second wave of COVID-19 in the fall of 2020 or sooner if distancing guidelines are relaxed. Do you trust these models after the abject failure of the original models?
Dangerous freedom is more American than safe slavery.
Well, there is an election to think about.

You assume that the legislative branch takes seriously the voice of the people who employed them. They have shown, at every level, that -once in office- they do only what is best for their party’s survival. They listen only to the party and legislate only on the party’s agenda. We have become a parliamentary democracy edging toward socialism because of fear.
Thank you for your vote, now go away.
Thanks, flubruh.
I intended to place a [h/t bagster] on that.
Election?
You mean the “Fall Valentine’s Day”?
Hallmark is salivating for their Constitutional protection.
I guess they don't get up till 2, 3 o'clock in the afternoon when the sun is warm.
(if you recognize that Cheech and Chong rererence, you win a prize)
So that is why so many die in NY...idiot doctors not giving people the Trump treatment of Hydroxychloroquine.
The unfortunate thing for Fauci, the Scarf Lady, WHO, CDC, etc. is Sweden treated it just like the flu. The panic mongers purposeful lies or unmitigated ineptitude are being showcased every day by the action of the Swedes.
