This guy claims CV19 is an American bioweapon, created in Fort Detrick. He also claims SARS and MERS were bioweapons but they failed. I guess we must attack other countries with bioweapons all the time? He accused an American Army Reservist of being "patient zero", but has now retracted that, claiming "I was being fed bad information to entrap me, exactly in the same way an FBI informant was used on my way to Piketon, Ohio three years ago".
This guy is a KOOK, and makes his living pushy conspiracy theories. He makes Alex Jones look legit.
pushy = pushing
Dunno.
Sounds like somebody’s brother-in-law is heavily invested in that solution.

thanks for pointing that out.
I prefer Sean Hannity myself and Fox News. That's where I get the real story.

@realDonaldTrump
Why should the people and taxpayers of America be bailing out poorly run states (like Illinois, as example) and cities, in all cases Democrat run and managed, when most of the other states are not looking for bailout help? I am open to discussing anything, but just asking?

If he’s open to discussing it publicly, he’s getting ready to do it.
I wonder if Cuomo is playing hardball by threatening not to pay unemployment or something like that.

The China connection..
Certainly!
Our County has not been hit too badly. The local government has lifted all it’s restrictions, and the State Restrictions will be raised for the most part around May 4. I thought I’d just post a summary of where we are:
Tested = 157
Negative = 141
Pending =8
Positive = 8
Recovered = 4
Hospitalized = 1
Deaths = 1 (female in 20s)
3 cases were 30 or older
5 cases were younger than 30
7 cases were from contacts
1 case was unknown source
And yet, on facebook, people saying that the stay home mandate etc. should not be lifted. It boggles the mind. Clearly, people using good sense should be able to get back to a more normal existence.
Keeping a distance, being clean-washing hands, wearing masks, choosing to stay home or go to the store etc. are all within a person’s control and make sense for anyone concerned about the spread of the disease.
It’s not the flu-but why is the flu considered a nothing burger? The flu is deadly for elderly people in fragile condition. A little more attention to stopping the spread of CV should also help with deaths from the flu and pneumonia.
Some things that maybe should have been done all along-like staying home when you are sick, and washing your hands more often etc. etc.
Anyway, being concerned and following good practices doesn’t make a person a Fearper-it’s smart to be informed and proactive. Old saying = to prepare for the worst and pray for the best.
Thats where I am, prepare for the worst, pray for the best. Our county has over 400 cases and 11 deaths now. Also, 79 hospitalized, we have one hospital here and that is a pretty big number for us for hospitalized.
However, our restrictions are all about to be lifted. People are out and about everywhere. It doesnt appear we have peaked yet.
So we will be the canary in the coal mine. Ill let yall know how we fare!

Influenza vaccination and respiratory virus interference among Department of Defense personnel during the 20172018 influenza season
G.Wolff
...
Examining virus interference by specific respiratory viruses showed mixed results. Vaccine derived virus interference was significantly associated with coronavirus and human metapneumovirus; however, significant protection with vaccination was associated not only with most influenza viruses, but also parainfluenza, RSV, and non-influenza virus coinfections.

Coronavirus - From North to South 1039 patients treated with hydroxychloroquine at home. The point on experimentation: “Collapse of hospitalizations”
...
We started administering hydroxychloroquine at home on March 27 and since then 231 patients have been treated promptly.” This was reported by Andrea Rossi , Extraordinary Commissioner of the Imola Local Health Authority . The results? “We had a 50% reduction in admissions to intensive care and hospitalization first aid .” The Director of the Oncology Department, Andrea Maestri , tells us that two weeks after the start of home treatments we went from 15 to 7 patients in intensive care, and from 70 to 35 patients in non-intensive care beds: a noticeable drop “. The question at this point is whether the drop in hospitalizations could be due to the lockdown . “It is a hypothesis to be evaluated “ argues Rossi, according to which “what I can tell you is that there is growing evidence on the role of early antiviral therapy , which has as its base hydroxychloroquine, associated with antiviral drugs and / or antibiotics, and heparin “ . What is certain is that from March 27 to April 12, while the curves of “ contagions “ and “deaths” of the Emilia Romagna Regionthey grew, they had a opposite trend to Imola : they decreased. “I repeat, home treatment could have drastically reduced admissions to the emergency room,” concludes Rossi, “and we are waiting for further confirmation from a scientific publication .” The protocol applied to Imola was developed by the Extraordinary Commissioner Rossi and Pierluigi Viale , ordinary of the University of Bologna and Director of Infectious Diseases of Sant’Orsola .

We only have 23 beds in our hospital. So it wouldn’t take much to overwhelm it. Still, I don’t think everyone is going to just rush in mass all over the place.
I always stay home during flu season anyway.
I think long term lung damage is a given. Pneumonia by itself can damage lungs and pleura. Once a virus enters a lung cell its destined to rupture/die. How much of each lung is infected = how many ruptured cells. Will the repair be scar tissue or nice healthy cells? Studies of near drowning and pneumonia patients should be helpful; in some, lung elasticity is permanently affected.
Johns Hopkins says it may take 3 months to over a year for the lungs to recover:

I had a serious case of Hong Kong Fluey when I was in college. It started with a mild sore throat one morning and got worse fast. By afternoon, I was barely able to breathe(cold air) as I walked to the building my car pool told me to go to, if I got really bad.
I collapsed on the bed in the ladies restroom and they took me to the dr. I already had pneumonia/bronchitis. I felt like the walking dead the rest of the semester. I was hacking and coughing up junk for over a year.
Then, every season that I got the slightest sniffle, I’d wind up with bronchitis for at least 5 years. Seems like there is always something coming in from China/Asian area.
