To: PA Engineer; null and void; All

Or a way to bolster our immune defenses that we might discover from the bats. CRISPR technology, maybe??

a few pix down shows streets in Suresnes, France being sprayed with something. Maybe the runoff gets into the ‘street cleaning water’ ?

Surpised not to see spraying in Metro NYC.
hope they’re, at least, doing it for the subway.

Can you access it thru these links maybe?:

don’t know if that helps, or this 2016 article that references the original as source material:

humans can’t synthesize their own Vit C. Bad viruses cause a rapid drop in Vit C. We don’t want that, right?

Maybe we do have a trick fruit bats don’t. What about DHA - go straight into the RBC where the DHA presto-changos into Vit C and is carried safely packaged to where it’s needed?

Plausible?

” the red blood cells of the handful of vitamin C-defective species are specially equipped to suck up the vitamin’s oxidized form, so-called L-dehydroascorbic acid (DHA), the researchers report in the March21st issue of Cell, a publication of Cell Press. Once inside the blood cells, that DHA—which is immediately transformed back into ascorbic acid (a.k.a. vitamin C)—can be efficiently carried through the bloodstream to the rest of the body, the researchers suggest.”

I'll throw the flag on this one: "Prevotella is a beneficial bacteria as it is associated with a plant-rich diet, however it is also linked to chronic inflammatory conditions,"

No one knows the proper gut Microbiota for human health, however I know many who would exclude prevotella. Some may understand this statement. Maybe the Seventh Day Adventist desire it to be so.

thanks very much. What a performance just to get an article!

I didn’t realize there were so many strains. I like the one that moderates glucose tolerance. The meanie seems to be DSM18025: “..Addition of P. copri DSM18025 to mice treated with antibiotics has been shown to increase their susceptibility to colitis..”, increases cytokine production, and, overall, prevotella has higher colonizations in the immuno-compromised.

So, just throwing it out there regarding diet, and/or morbidities, is there a way currently (and cheaply) to assay for DSM 18025 levels? If so, is there a safe way to reduce 18025 loads in those with inflammatory conditions whether they be vegan or meaters? Does Vitamin C or D have an effect on load reduction? Will a quick reduction bring about a corresponding reduction of cytokines and inflammation? Or are other strains of prevotella also players in inflammation? There’s a study just waiting to happen.

ANTIBODY TESTING

Some antibody tests for COVID-19 previous infection can give false results, experts say

It’s the Covid Clinic. According to spokesman Matt Collins, it’s a partnership by Sean Penn’s nonprofit Community Organized Relief Effort, or CORE, and Huntington Beach family practice Dr. Matthew Abinante.
For $125, a person can get a nasal swab test for COVID-19., For $75 you can take an antibody test.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/medical/some-antibody-tests-for-covid-19-previous-infection-can-give-false-results-experts-say/ar-BB12T0Xj?ocid=spartanntp

“.. Some are misusing antibody test results to diagnose the disease, not realizing that they can miss the early stages of infection.
“People don’t understand how dangerous this test is,” said Michael T. Osterholm, an infectious disease expert at the University of Minnesota. “We sacrificed quality for speed, and in the end, when it’s people’s lives that are hanging in the balance, safety has to take precedence over speed.”
Even as government agencies, companies and academic researchers scramble to validate existing tests and create better ones, there are doubts they can deliver as promised. Most tests now available mistakenly flag at least some people as having antibodies”

$125? say what?

are these problems, real problems, or embellished problems?

TESTING

20 million COVID-19 tests per day needed to fully open economy: Study

“...more than 45 economists, social scientists, lawyers and ethicists say there’s a growing consensus pointing to a major step necessary to put Americans back to work: dramatically upscaling testing.

“In a report titled “Roadmap to Pandemic Resilience,” set to be released on Monday...Test producers will need to deliver 5 million tests per day by early June to safely open parts of the economy by late July, according to the report. To “fully re-mobilize the economy,” the country will need to see testing grow to 20 million a day, the report suggests.”

Amazon is using thermal cameras for temperature checks amid coronavirus

Amazon has installed thermal cameras at its “operations locations,” according to a statement that was emailed CNN Business. The thermal cameras require less contact and work quicker than the forehead cameras Amazon originally introduced. The employee entrances of several Whole Foods locations will also be equipped with the new devices.

Garcetti: LA is ‘under attack’ and will need to furlough thousands of city workers

LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti warned Sunday that the economic downturn facing the city will be more painful than the 2008 recession, requiring cuts to government programs and the furlough of thousands of city employees.

In a remarkable State of the City address, one that comes five weeks into the shutdown of many businesses, government buildings and other facilities, Garcetti declared that the city is “under attack” from the coronavirus and the economic fallout that has come with it.

CRUISE SHIPS

The three last cruise ships still sailing will dock today.

One of them - the MSC Magnifica - has had an odyssey like no other.

The cruise left Europe in January, and was in the other corner of the world when ports began to close.

With nowhere to go, the Italian-owned ship started the long journey home. Its passengers, used to a new port every few days, last felt land six weeks ago.

Navajo Nation braces for a surge of coronavirus cases

On March 17, when the Navajo Nation saw its first COVID-19 case, the reservation’s limited health facilities sprang into action...It didn’t take long for one case to turn into two, and then 20. As of Monday, the Navajo Nation, which sprawls across three states, had 1,197 positive coronavirus cases. HEALTH CARE:

Patients with heart attacks, strokes and even appendicitis vanish from hospitals

“...Five weeks into a nationwide coronavirus lockdown, many doctors believe the pandemic has produced a silent sub-epidemic of people who need care at hospitals but dare not come in....
A Gallup online poll taken March 28 to April 2 asked people with different conditions how concerned they would be about exposure to coronavirus if they needed “medical treatment right now” at a hospital or doctor’s office. Eighty-six percent of people with heart disease said they would be either “very concerned” or “moderately concerned.” Among people with high blood pressure, the figure was 83 percent...”

there’s an article on California that says auto accidents are down 50%. That’s a good portion of ER admissions. Other than that, people are scared of hospitals right now.
