thanks very much. What a performance just to get an article!
I didn’t realize there were so many strains. I like the one that moderates glucose tolerance. The meanie seems to be DSM18025: “..Addition of P. copri DSM18025 to mice treated with antibiotics has been shown to increase their susceptibility to colitis..”, increases cytokine production, and, overall, prevotella has higher colonizations in the immuno-compromised.
So, just throwing it out there regarding diet, and/or morbidities, is there a way currently (and cheaply) to assay for DSM 18025 levels? If so, is there a safe way to reduce 18025 loads in those with inflammatory conditions whether they be vegan or meaters? Does Vitamin C or D have an effect on load reduction? Will a quick reduction bring about a corresponding reduction of cytokines and inflammation? Or are other strains of prevotella also players in inflammation? There’s a study just waiting to happen.
