That is wild. So what is the difference between homeless and nursing homes?

The homeless in my area are mostly rail-thin, starving beggars on street corners. Unlikely to be obese or diabetic. To the extent that those are co-morbidity factors, they aren't in play. Most have poor hygiene, so their immune system is getting a good workout. That's the transient homeless. There are others who are perennial beggars. They are well fed, well groomed and dressed in clean clothes. They leave their street corners and drive back to a comfortable dwelling.

Ya, our ‘essential’ businesses had mostly moved to curbside.

This is for non essential stuff like clothing boutiques, beauty supplies and that stuff.

nail salons, tanning parlors, and the neighbor barber are still SOL.

PS, so when it’s all said and done, I wonder if the republican governors with common sense measures vs. the more draconian blue state measures will wake some people up to how the leftist want us to live? I’d hope so, but I still think many will vote for bread and circuses.

Glen Beck is going on about the wholesale price of gasoline. There is such a glut from lack of demand that gas is being wholesaled at 12 cents per gallon. That's lower than the last great depression where it bottomed at 14 cents a gallon...and the US dollar is worth a lot less today. The refineries are depending on the volume inside the pipelines to hold product.

I'll have to fill up on the weekend for a round trip to Ogden, UT on Monday. A necessary trip to DISA to hook up their GFE laptop to their network to cache my DISANet account credentials against a new CAC card. There is no other way beyond making the physical visit. 280 mile round trip. I tried on March 6th only to discover that my account had not been created. 142 miles from home for no net benefit.

Thanks for posting that TX/Gov Abbott update.

From your link...

AUSTIN, Texas — Gov. Greg About issued a series of executive orders Friday that will help Texas gradually reopen Texas.

The first executive order will establish a strike force that includes a team medical experts and leaders Rep. Dennis Bonnen, Attorney Gen. Ken Paxton, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and attorney Glenn Hegar.

The force will also have advisers from the business community such as jeweler Kendra Scott and philanthropist Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale.

Starting April 22, Abbott said current restrictions on medical procedures will be lifted such as a diagnostic test for cancer.

Starting April 24, Abbott said retailers will be allowed to do to-go shopping.

This is a developing story. Please refresh periodically for more updates.

We filled up every can we own a cpl weeks ago.

Might see if we can get a few more cans at this price.

There is a LOT less traffic on our busy road these days. I’m going to bet that once we’re ‘free’ again and everything is open that there will be an above normal levels bounce up.

Everyone is planting a HUGE garden.

Mine is YUGE. We are going to buy a freeze dryer. All 16 raised beds will cycle with two sets of plants.

When every country shut down, the Great Depression was baked in. Flubros just don't understand that. They will go from angry to dangerous.

They blame everyone but China and fail to see the war declared on us with a weapon of mass destruction. Panda loves them.

We know who the foreign enemy is, now we will have to deal with yet another domestic one.

As of today we will exceed the fatalities of 12 9/11 attacks. Yet some people are just OK with that.

Gov Abbott (TX) says that, next week, stores can begin ‘to-go’ shopping.

Not sure if this means curbside pickup, after ordering onlin, but...many TX stores are already doing this....I picked up a curbside order, at Kohl’s, last week.

They came out, dropped the shopping bag into my trunk, and off I went.

We popped the truck open and let the sunshine on the bag for a while.

Their blaming Trump is what bothers me.

Those manufacturing jobs are NOT coming back even IF we open back up. UNTIL they can get the widgets used in their processes.

China itself shutting down guaranteed a great depression. Even IF nobody else ever sniffled again.

The people to BLAME are the free traitors who insisted China become an economic single point of failure for not just the US, but pretty much every single nation on the face of the earth. Even 4th world countries in Africa can’t get meds if they need them from China now.

Of course, it is just a coincidence that the Bat Lady (who is missing as far as I can tell) worked on the Chapel Hill project that transfered the Bat/Sars virus to a mouse...and then later worked on it at a bioweapons lab in Wuhan.

This thing came from a lab.

Whether it is bioweapon or just a study being done for whatever reason..ahem...still remains to be seen....as does whether it was an intentional or accidental release.

Why are Paul Manafort and Roger Stone still in prison?

Good question.

I guess solitary confinement guys can’t catch the Wuhan?

That’s what our local hardware store is doing. Drive up in your PU and they put it in and secure if if you’ve left a way for them to do that. Lowers their risk of exposure to who knows who too.

That store is a family run business. The dad owns/runs it and the kids help. W/o the dad, the business would fail, kids aren’t old enough to really KNOW the business yet.

We don’t need the state by state reports, nor do we need reposting of links to stories published weeks ago.
