Sorry most honorable Hojczyk. No, I cannot do that, a few others, maybe, but Rod Stewart, no.

Ahhhhh, there was a time...………..

First saw Rod Stewart when he was with the Jeff Beck Group in the late '60's. Then with the Faces I saw him probably four times. Best Concert ever was: "A Party with the Faces" at the Hollywood Palladium. It was their last show of the tour and it was a party.

Unfortunately, He lost the edge, and became too much Neil Diamond or Barry Manilowish.

Last great song of Rod's (IMHO) was his cover of Tom Wait's Downtown Train in '89.

But From the glimpses I saw of the show you posted, it looked like he is still a good entertainer.

Tom Waits is my #1 singer/songwriter and his album, “Small Change” is an absolute masterpiece. The album also features a young actress (Casandra Peterson) on the cover who later went on to create the iconic character, “Elvira”

That said...

Tom Waits’ music video of “Downtown Train” (GREAT song) is extraordinary...in a Tom Waits kinda way.

I own over 5,000 albums so obviously have a fairly broad musical appetite. I have tried repeatedly to get into Tom Waits, but can't. Maybe I don't drink enough whiskey. I do love his Heart of Saturday Night album, though, which I think most of his fans view as one of his weaker offerings.

Back on topic. Rod Stewart was great in the early days, but he long ago crossed over into vagina rock and I can't take him seriously any more.

That was some amazing work for sure.

“ Small Change” is an absolute masterpiece.”

It is indeed. I used to joke about how cool it would have been to have dinner with Tom and his wife Rickie Lee. You wouldn’t be able to understand a single word.

Very underrated song. I checked my iTunes archives the other day and found that this was one of the Top 20 in terms of number of plays.
