NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said Tuesday that the League is exploring every reasonable option for resuming the 2019-20 season and ensuring that it is ready to fully spring into action as soon as the "green light" is given by authorities and medical professionals.
"From an NHL standpoint, and I'm sure this is what the other leagues are doing, we're viewing all of our options," Commissioner Bettman said on "Lunch Talk Live" on NBCSN. "We want to be ready to go as soon as we get a green light, and the green light may not be crystal clear because there may still be some places in the country you can't play and other places where you can.
"We're looking at all options. Nothing has been ruled in, nothing has been ruled out. It's largely going to be determined what we do by how much time there is, because we have next season to focus on as well, and the health of the country, and by the country, I mean both Canada and the U.S., obviously."

I figured they would have already made enough Fiats for the year.
There was talk of playing in North Dakota. No joke.
Play a few challenge games for the nhl teams on the bubble. Then playoffs. As soon as the new cases/deaths from covid starts dropping, let fans in the stands. This will happen soon, maybe before June.
The players want to get paid, so let’s find a way to earn checks while not read really delivering the product. I don’t intend to watch any sport until these social justice warriors, and their milquetoast leagues go back to real play. I refuse to watch a game until I can watch one live.
Think about it. NHL players have very little exposed skin. Put a surgical mask on them and they should be good to go. All clothing washed after every game and all equipment like sticks and pucks wiped down.
They ought to be ready more quickly than the NBA.
Colleges are run by a bunch of liberal pussies. I suspect the college sports will be the last ones to return.
That’s funny. I lived in Corona/Anaheim, and the Weather was always Sunny, and 90 Degrees. It was pretty windy alot also. Which helped on the Hot Days. No Mosquito ever bit me! Ain’t gonna be that lucky here in Michigan in a few weeks. :(

The biggest concern in these sports leagues is having players infect each other. That’s the reason why the NBA was the first league to suspend its season — after one of their players tested positive.
It will never work very well at all. The seasonal flu and other viruses run rampant in NHL locker rooms. It became a particularly challenging problem when they started allowing NHL players in the Winter Olympics. One of the common remedies used by the players (Sudafed, I think) is considered a banned substance under IOC rules, so players had to figure out another way to deal with regular outbreaks in the months leading up to the Olympics.
Thank God I grew up in the Bay Area, so I grew up in the 70s with the Oakland As. Magical baseball childhood being an As fan.
The Astros went three seasons just outright cheating, and the league knew about it and did nothing. They won a World Series outright cheating. Nobody said anything. It took a fan spotting it to bring it forward and then it hit the fan.
They need a new Kenessaw Mountain to come in and ban everybody who had anything to do with it.
Nobody’s got the stones for that anymore.
They need to hand the rings over and give the trophy to the NL opponent that year.
Not going to happen.
