Think about it. NHL players have very little exposed skin. Put a surgical mask on them and they should be good to go. All clothing washed after every game and all equipment like sticks and pucks wiped down.
They ought to be ready more quickly than the NBA.
It will never work very well at all. The seasonal flu and other viruses run rampant in NHL locker rooms. It became a particularly challenging problem when they started allowing NHL players in the Winter Olympics. One of the common remedies used by the players (Sudafed, I think) is considered a banned substance under IOC rules, so players had to figure out another way to deal with regular outbreaks in the months leading up to the Olympics.
