They have to claim that preemptively so that (they think) we can’t call them on their insouciance. Since it looks like the mitigation is making a difference (hopefully) it won’t be as bad as the “if we do nothing” scenarios, but they will ignore the fact that it will only get as bad as however it gets, instead of much worse, because of all the measures they opposed.
No doubt they’ll try to claim credit somehow for beating the virus.
Wait until they realize the economic crash and new great depression they are hoping for didn’t happen.

Well, there are plenty of FluBros that have congratulated themselves that “only” so many people died, or that it was “only” old, sick people. And plenty perpetuating all sorts of lies to diminish the problem so they can still pretend it is “just the flu, bro” while willfully putting even more people at risk.
If there is “sickness” in this forum, it is largely among those that profess to be conservatives, yet worship the almighty dollar above the lives of countless Americans that just may have been saved by the actions of the Trump administration.
