2 Trillion for Washington's Virus Bill = 6,060.00 per Person.

The numbers speak for themselves.

Rather than "give" 6,000.00 per person to the individuals to use as they see fit, Washington demands their cut: 1,000.00 back (maybe) IF you have less than 90,000.00 income limit, otherwise nothing.

And the rest going to the people the Washington political class selects and the democrat's ABCNNBCBS press corpse approves!

2 trillion is roughly 1/10 of the entire US economy. How will they spend all of that in two months?

It would be simpler to cut taxes for the rest of the year.

I would rather they just send out 6K per person then give it away to special interest BS

That 6K can do wonders for some people

I agree with that. The $2 trillion overall price tag doesn’t bother me. It’s less than a third of what we’ve spent on Middle East wars since the time of Bush, and conservatives for the most part never complain about those costs, they never even discuss them

A lot of the money is going to companies besides people.

Doesn’t it warm your heart to know that the NEA/NEH get a few hundred million bucks out of this?

And all that fiat conjured out of nothing. Inflation ahead.

Beware this being a gateway precedent toward Universal Basic Income.

TARP turned a profit, and a lot of this will, too.

The 500 bn bailout fund will be levered 10 times to become 5 trillion, finances at fed rates of close to zero, and earning 4% per annum on corporate loans at penalty rates. That’s a return of 400 billion a year as long at it’s outstanding.

The stimulus checks and unemployment insurance are also taxable. The net on this thing is going to be a lot less than 2 trillion.

And not only that, the alternatives were either the greatest global depression since the 30’s or mass illness and death.

As Gladys Knight and the Pips sang, you got to make the best of best of a bad situation.

Needs repeating many times.

I don’t have as much problem with that as I have with obstacles placed in path of middle class trying to upgrade to upper middle class levels. Those obstacles are mainly high income taxes on middle class.

Nuts, nice Bernie platform. .Gov doesn't invest wisely nor does it handle debt. Debt has always expanded, nothing will change that.

“It would be simpler to cut taxes for the rest of the year.”

Definitely. This bill is absurd. Trump being an incumbent politician in an election year sort of hornswoggled himself into going along with this bill. I get it. What’s a few more trillion in debt. :-)

Cutting taxes does not give politicians bang for the buck, because it is mostly invisible to the vast masses. But a check in the mail, or a gift card or a cash deposit to your bank account has much more impact.

It’s printed money. Bad idea. Easier to zero all taxes on income for the year. No fed income tax, no SS or Medicare tax.

Their Ponzi schemes can shove it.

Income Ranges
Household Income Range Millions of Households Comments
Less than $20,000 19.7 Below or near poverty level
$20,000 - $44,999 28.7 Low income
$45,000 - $139,999 57.7 Middle class
$140,000 - $149,999 2.6 Upper middle class

The 99000 cap should be 139.999 More than 1/2 of America according to this chart is middleclass, those that fall in upper end of this category which is still middle class are getting cheated!
On top of all of this is the millions of dollars of crap like 350 million to help immigrants and their families adjust, this could have been used to fund the rest of the middleclass. I t seems the middlclass got f’d once again.

You are a wise person:

The top 20 percent of Americans pay almost 90 percent of all federal income taxes.

The bottom 50 percent of Americans pay just 3 percent of federal income taxes.

Some things such as gasoline are going down but at a point some time in the future I expect everything that has any real value and some that don’t to go sky high in price.
