Anything being put out there to help the self employed?

Hi all, I own a screenprinting/embroidery business...have lost a ton of business coming up due to cancellations of events. Has anything been set up to help those of us who are self employed? I know there are some loan options which are very constricting and a pain in the butt to get...was just wondering. Thanks!

There is an income provision in there. If you have had a rough time in the last 6 months, you may not qualify.

Small businesses have to take out loans, but the “Endowment for the Arts” gets a monstrous grant. That is sick.

I’ve heard that, but since I am an LLC and not set up as an employer with myself as an employee, I don’t pay into the state unemployment insurance fund. I’ll check to see if I’m wrong and you’re correct.

Heard on the radio that the kung flu bailout package includes up to $350,000 loans for small businesses. I’d go for it if I were you. Get in line early as I expect long lines and lots of forms to fill out.

Can’t believe the amount of bullshit in the first 10 or 15 posts over this person’s question. There are thrads to make light of and others that are serious.

If you can’t be serious or don’t know what the hell you are talking about, leave it alone!

terart, in other words, anyone involved in this thread has no idea what they are talking about.

Keep an eye out over the next few days. Contact your accountant, if you have one, or just apply for unemployment and let them figure it all out from there.

I am guessing I will need to wait until the House signs the bill before I bother going to the unemployment office...am I correct?

No, file unemployment as soon as your state’s waiting period from your layoff is over. File with your state and then see what they have in place in order to receive Fed unemployment benefits
