Hi all, I own a screenprinting/embroidery business...have lost a ton of business coming up due to cancellations of events. Has anything been set up to help those of us who are self employed? I know there are some loan options which are very constricting and a pain in the butt to get...was just wondering. Thanks!
I think it’s all about filing a return. Depending on what you make, you should get a check.
“How small-business owners and the self-employed can take advantage of the coronavirus stimulus package”
Good question...haven’t seen any...what about independent rent Landlords (houses) - non-HUD / big apartment complexes
Well sure...
Just last night the U.S. Senate voted to spend $2.4 trillion dollars on relief to Americans.
That’s $8,000.00 for each man woman and child in the country!
I’m sure you will be getting that $8,000.00 check any day now.
Pelosi still owes me $2,500/yr, now X 10 years.

About 120 million U.S. taxpayers will qualify for direct payments from the government under the historic $2.2 trillion economic relief bill to combat the impact of the coronavirus, according to a conservative advocacy groups analysis.
Treasury Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin has said checks of up to $1,200 per person and $500 per child will go out within three weeks of President Trump signing the legislation, which could come as early as Friday.
The IRS will send the money by direct deposit to taxpayers who have set up that capability; otherwise checks will be mailed.
Individuals with income up to $75,000 will qualify for a one-time direct payment of $1,200. The program phases out at a rate of $5 for every $100 of income above $75,000, with an individual income cap of $99,000.
Married couples with combined incomes up to $150,000 would receive $2,400, subject to the same phaseout that applies to individuals. The payments would be phased out entirely for couples making $198,000 or more.
Payments for children will be phased out under the same guidelines. AAF said eligibility will be based on 2019 income tax filings where possible.

None for me either. 8>)
Companies and non-profits in dire straits because of the shutdown will be able to apply for grants from the Small Business Administration for up to $10 million to pay salaries for their people.
The Democrats are being quite generous with other people's money in this situation.
Self employed? You are pretty much on your own, sorry.
Government worker? The checks will keep coming even if you are not working.
See how it works? Disgusting.
YES this bill includes for unemployment freelancers, contractors, self employed will get 600.00 per week through your state unemployment department you better go on line and file NOW they are going to be backed up!!!
If I understood an article I read correctly, you are supposed to be able to file unemployment claim with your state — normally I think you would not be able to do so. You should definitely check out your state unemployment web page, and you could try calling them for guidance.
Assuming you paid taxes in 2018, you should also receive a check in a couple of weeks.
terart, I’m a photographer. I’ve had a lot of events postponed. I’m looking at my Business Insurance Policy. It looks like, because I am denied access to the properties (churches and wedding venues) that are closed due to the government’s order, I may be able to make a claim for loss of income. I can’t claim for a postponement, so once I get a hard cancellation, I’ll see if that works. I suggest a good read of your insurance policy.
You will also get the initial payment of 3400.00 for a family of 4...
Dunno. Good luck. Marry someone rich? I was very close to self-employed (franchise). It’s very difficult. The self-employed I know now have lawn cutting or snow removal businesses, but that is to supplement their income of a regular job. My polymer chemist buddy is self-employed. He’s had a tough time for 20 years. His wife makes great money and picks up everything monetarily including his patents. It’s great if you can do it, but it’s tough with individuals and corporations competing. Best to you.
You didn’t read it to find out what’s in it.
Silly rabbit. Trix are for kids.
You are a freelance person AND are eligible for $600.00 a week in unemployment through your states unemployment department!! You will also receive the initial payment from the IRS!!
Thanks for doing the math.
sorry..only govt workers who are at home getting paid for doing nothing will get the goodies....rat law....
