My daughter is planning a cruise on the MSC Mirivaglia in July, and I am hoping to be able to go on one to Bermuda in October. -Tom
Been booked for a while for a cruise in October up the east coast. Hope it happens.
Well, another control test petri dish to get data. That government will probably ignore.
The Diamond Princess cruise ship... basically another floating petri dish of old people...had about a 20% infection rate and seven deaths (all elderly) out of 3,700 passengers.
A death rate not even on par with the flu.
A three-hour cruise....
will they be going through the Bermuda triangle? j/k j/k-
Folks going on cruises right now gotta face the fact that they might very well have to quarantine for 1/2 a month when they dock back home- but hey- that’s 1/2 month vacation for free-
if the ship sinks, they’ll all be counted as corona fatalities.
I am cruise starved already LOL, last one was on Feb 24th, from Jacksonville, FL whose cruise terminal is only 30 minutes drive from home, so convenient, no flights, no hotels.
Let the cruise lines go broke. They sell tickets to eat and sleep on a floating petrie dish, and then head for the US to dump all the careless idiots who get sick onboard. Florida is truly selfish for exposing its citizens to danger and death for cash.
Wife and I have a Baltic cruise scheduled, but not till July 2021.
Hopefully by then this will have burned through.
All of you hate cruises please never book a cruise. That way prices will not jump higher. There are actually cruise haters who have never taken a cruise on a modern luxury ship. Something similar to virgins who hate sex because you can get STD from it.
Ok, Cruise ships need to rebrand. Now its a cruise ship. But its also an adventure. And a wait loss program. Join the ship with a very cheap flight. Then you may get bonus days if the ship is placed in quarantine. How great is that.
Fort Lauderdale huh?
Good keep them in quarantine there in Debbie Wasserman’s district.
Maybe do a cum buh ya there with her.
Tom, as for taking a cruise to anywhere?
Take a drive around America pal.
BON VOYAGE!
Bring your sanitary wipes.
I believe some of the best data about transmission and close contact comes from the cruise lines experience with Coronavirus. The passengers all shared close common spaces and were together for weeks at a time (given they were left waiting at sea/port for a period as well - particularly the Diamond Princess in Japan)
3500 people aboard the Grand Princess to Hawaii. Of the 1,103 passengers from the Grand Princess that elected to be tested, 103 tested positive, 699 tested negative. 2 have died, both aged in their 60s.
3711 people aboard the Diamond Princess (Japan). 634 confirmed cases, a total of 306 and 328 were reported to be symptomatic and asymptomatic, respectively. 7 deaths total.
Importing more virus spreaders? Free hugs!
Why go to US port? Go back to port of origin!
Held up from passage through the Panama Canal.
...the canal Carter sold to China.
...the same China that’s not allowing foreigners into their country.
The same canal our navy uses?
...or do we we go around South America?
On Fakebook I just read that four Passengers are Dead.
Don’t know if it’s true.
