A cruise ship carrying at least 77 people with flu-like symptoms on board is on its way to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., according to a statement from the cruise line. The ship, MS Zaandam, intends to arrive in Fort Lauderdale on Monday, March 30 but cruise line Holland America notes that plans are still being finalized.snip
Zaandam left Buenos Aires, Argentina on March 7 on a trip that was supposed to end in San Antonio, Chile on March 21 but that route was disrupted over coronavirus concerns. Holland America announced on March 13 that it would suspend its global cruise operations for 30 days due to the continued port closures and travel restrictions surrounding COVID-19 and in an abundance of caution.

My daughter is planning a cruise on the MSC Mirivaglia in July, and I am hoping to be able to go on one to Bermuda in October. -Tom
Been booked for a while for a cruise in October up the east coast. Hope it happens.
Well, another control test petri dish to get data. That government will probably ignore.
The Diamond Princess cruise ship... basically another floating petri dish of old people...had about a 20% infection rate and seven deaths (all elderly) out of 3,700 passengers.
A death rate not even on par with the flu.
A three-hour cruise....
will they be going through the Bermuda triangle? j/k j/k-
Folks going on cruises right now gotta face the fact that they might very well have to quarantine for 1/2 a month when they dock back home- but hey- that’s 1/2 month vacation for free-
I don’t a know why a cruise starting country and supposed to end in a foreign country needs to stop in our country, with all that sickness....
if the ship sinks, they’ll all be counted as corona fatalities.
I wouldnt consider a cruise even if Ginger was booked in the same cabin as I was. But if it were Mary Ann...
I am cruise starved already LOL, last one was on Feb 24th, from Jacksonville, FL whose cruise terminal is only 30 minutes drive from home, so convenient, no flights, no hotels.
All other ports are closed to cruise ships. We live in the U.S.A and in spite of all the badmouthing liberals do, we still help people in need.
And note to Oliver Stone, Bernie Sanders, Danny Glover, and all the democratic socialists (aka communists), the worker’s paradise that is Venezuela doesn’t seem to be offering to help, only the repressive USA.

Somewhat misleading article. Holland sold this cruise as a roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale around South America to Fort Lauderdale. It also sold segments of this cruise, ie, Fort lauderdale to Rio, etc.
Because they want to be sure that AMERICA gets a really good dose of the chicom war tool by delivery.
Let the cruise lines go broke. They sell tickets to eat and sleep on a floating petrie dish, and then head for the US to dump all the careless idiots who get sick onboard. Florida is truly selfish for exposing its citizens to danger and death for cash.
I agree. Start it in a foreign country -- end it there!
Can I also add Marcia Brady?
(Eat your heart out, Jack Tripper!)
