(CNN)At a time when countless universities have sent students home, one university is reopening its doors.

About 1,900 students returned to Liberty University, a private evangelical Christian university, in Lynchburg, Virginia, a spokesman confirmed to CNN on Tuesday.

Liberty University President Jerry Falwell Jr. and other leaders discussed whether to extend spring break and "risk students having a longer time to become exposed to the virus," the school said in a statement. It decided it was safer to bring the students back to campus.

Their parents and grandparents are probably safer from CCP virus with them back at school.

“They are not allowed to contact each other anyway..... :)”

You’re right. I went to a Christian college and Physical D isplays of Affection (PDAs) were prohibited. Even had to apply to the Dean Of Women for a dating pass.

What happens in Florida doesn’t always stay in Florida. Here are all the flights in US airspace at this time:

https://flightaware.com/live/

If even one of those flights landing in my state contains a COVID-19 carrier that undermines all the precautions we have taken so far. The quarantine and the threat to our livelihoods will have been for nothing.

Also, I have elderly relatives in Florida and don’t want to see them infected with coronavirus.

I speak as a survivor of the 1976 swine flu, which no one talks about, because it endangered military personnel.

Then there shouldn't be any flights at all.

Am I missing something? Unless they're testing every passenger and crew member who boards an airplane, how the hell do we know who is carrying COVID-19 onto the flight, and who is not?

The Herd of Liberty University will be safe. But those who do not contract it on campus will be vulnerable when they step off campus.

There needs to be between 80-90% immunity in order to keep the herd safe from epidemics. It doesn’t prevent those uninfected from picking it up...it merely retards the spread.

Successful therapy against Covid-19 virus from New York State:

Dr. Vladimir (Zev) Zelenko

Board Certified Family Practitioner

501 Rt 208, Monroe, NY 10950

845-238-0000

March 23, 2020

To all medical professionals around the world:

My name is Dr. Zev Zelenko and I practice medicine in Monroe, NY. For the last 16 years, I have cared for approximately 75% of the adult population of Kiryas Joel, which is a very close knit community of approximately 35,000 people in which the infection spread rapidly and unchecked prior to the imposition of social distancing.

As of today my team has tested approximately 200 people from this community for Covid-19, and 65% of the results have been positive. If extrapolated to the entire community, that means more than 20,000 people are infected at the present time. Of this group, I estimate that there are 1500 patients who are in the high-risk category (i.e. >60, immunocompromised, comorbidities, etc).

Given the urgency of the situation, I developed the following treatment protocol in the pre-hospital setting and have seen only positive results:

1. Any patient with shortness of breath regardless of age is treated.

2. Any patient in the high-risk category even with just mild symptoms is treated.

3. Young, healthy and low risk patients even with symptoms are not treated (unless their circumstances change and they fall into category 1 or 2).

My out-patient treatment regimen is as follows:

1. Hydroxychloroquine 200mg twice a day for 5 days

2. Azithromycin 500mg once a day for 5 days

3. Zinc sulfate 220mg once a day for 5 days

The rationale for my treatment plan is as follows. I combined the data available from China and South Korea with the recent study published from France (sites available on request). We know that hydroxychloroquine helps Zinc enter the cell. We know that Zinc slows viral replication within the cell. Regarding the use of azithromycin, I postulate it prevents secondary bacterial infections. These three drugs are well known and usually well tolerated, hence the risk to the patient is low.

Since last Thursday, my team has treated approximately 350 patients in Kiryas Joel and another 150 patients in other areas of New York with the above regimen.

Of this group and the information provided to me by affiliated medical teams, we have had ZERO deaths, ZERO hospitalizations, and ZERO intubations. In addition, I have not heard of any negative side effects other than approximately 10% of patients with temporary nausea and diarrhea.

In sum, my urgent recommendation is to initiate treatment in the outpatient setting as soon as possible in accordance with the above. Based on my direct experience, it prevents acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), prevents the need for hospitalization and saves lives.

With much respect,

Dr. Zev Zelenko

Over 30,000 were killed by the common flu this year. NOTHING was closed down! This response is insanity. The number of destroyed lives thanks to the quarantine and shutdown will number in the tens of millions.
Is this worth it? I say no!

Maybe. We will see.

People think that the entire herd becomes immune automatically. My point was they do not.

But, we will see. I am staying home.

I do not believe that. I know that people will die. But, I have no choice. I work as a nurse in a nursing home.
All I am saying that that these mandated layoffs will devastate many millions to the point of despair.

Be well, my FRiend!!!
