Out-of-work strippers are delivering food through Boober Eats
Portland finds a way. Close down her strip clubs, and dancers will do delivery.
Thats whats happening at the Lucky Devil Lounge at 633 S.E. Powell Blvd. The club was forced to close with Gov. Kate Browns mandate to stem the spread of coronavirus, but the order does allow food establishments to offer take-out or delivery.
And thus was born club owner Shon Bouldens newest business: Boober Eats.
The home delivery service, in which a pair of scantily clad strippers will deliver hot food to your door, started as a joke Boulden posted on social media. When people began seriously inquiring about orders, Boulden saw potential.
So, while the rest of Portland was hoarding toilet paper and pasta, he bought out one local stores stock of pasties.
From 7 p.m. to 1 a.m., Boober Eats is offering the full menu from the Lucky Devil Lounge at the same prices. Delivery rates are generally $30, but vary depending on distance from the lounge.
If someone wants to give us a couple hundred bucks to go to the coast, well do it as long as the girls are taken care of, Boulden said.
Popular orders include chicken fingers, steak bites and mini corndogs.
All the calls, people are just giddy and fun, Boulden said. Sometimes its a surprise for someone, sometimes its a birthday, sometimes its people that are really stoned.
All dancers are driven and escorted by a security guard. And theres at least one rule that carries over from the strip club to a pandemic no touching the dancers.
But social distancing seemed to be a struggle for the women themselves. The club has turned into the headquarters for Boober Eats, and on Friday, it remained full of dancers, delivery drivers and members of the media. Some of the dancers greeted each other with hugs and took selfies together.
For his part, Boulden is providing masks, disposable gloves and sanitizing wipes.
Strippers are like hairstylists or tattoo artists, in that they usually book a space to do their work and are considered independent contractors rather than employees. That means they typically arent eligible for unemployment benefits.
It became very real when all this happened, said one of the dancers, who goes by the stage name Olivia. Dancers work for tips and tips only.
Boulden has about 80 dancers between Lucky Devil and another club, Devils Point, which he co-owns.
Theyre all like, hey, what do we do? I said, let me figure something out, and this is my solution," he said.
About 25 dancers have started doing Boober, Boulden said. Even with deliveries, many of the dancers doing Boober runs have gone from making several hundred dollars a night to earning close to minimum wage.
Losing this job is devastating, said Kiki, who started her first Boober shift Friday. For the majority of us, its been an almost complete loss of income. Im here supporting my community and trying to keep maintaining an income flow as best as we can.
Boulden said hes trying to employ as many people as possible during the clubs shut down. The kitchen staff are cooking orders. Security guards are driving dancers to deliveries. Bartenders are now working the phones and maintaining social media.
Its crazy, Boulden said. We mutated our one business into a totally different style of business.

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
The false positive rate was 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
If a quarantine saves just one child's or one old farts life, it's worth it.
Beat me to it, He’s why I included how to get contact info...
Whoa! Stripper delivery?
They need to be in a dark club, not out in the light where we can see what they really look like.
A girl’s gotta work...
Uh, yeah, “delivery” alright. I think some of them were doing that prior to COVID-19.
Is this a great Country or what.
my dtr lived just down the street from this place.......pretty yucky area but a couple of good restaurants.....
No they were doing “take out” before the Wuflu.
lol
Keep in mind that the US Dept of Homeland Security declared food delivery service as essential services void of lock-down or quarantine orders.
This is definitely an idea that a centrally planned economy wouldn’t come up with ...
Points for adaptability.
Now now, those ‘lap dances’ are a no no.
No pics? Boob blocker on website
