The Buffalo Bills have acquired wide receiver Stefon Diggs from the Minnesota Vikings for multiple draft choices, including a first-round pick, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Buffalo is sending four picks to Minnesota -- a first, fifth and sixth in 2020 and a fourth in 2021 -- while also getting a 2020 seventh-rounder back from the Vikings.

Diggs had 63 catches for 1,130 yards and six touchdowns in 2019, coming off a career-best 102 catches in 2018.

Diggs, 26, is in the second year of a five-year, $72 million contract. Editor's Picks

It lowers the payroll in the event of a shortened season.

Shades of Hershel Walker trade, in reverse, from the Cowboys to Minn long ago.

One of the most confusing titles published this year. It seemed like an archeological dig mired in regulations.

Payroll dump? Doesn’t seem prudent to let him go, he’s a solid WR.

I kind of like the Bills. So I want them to succeed. This move cost them a king’s ransom in draft picks. Hope he’s enough to put them over the top in a Tom Brady-less division to make it worth it.

Diggs has the potential to be a game-changing WR. He also has the potential to poison your locker room and embarrass the coaches on the sideline during a game. Which makes him, simply, a pain-in-the-ass.

The Vikes really needed to get their cap situation under control. This move plus the contract reconfiguration for Cousins are smart moves.

I was about to say the same with regards to Hershel Walker...I was so angry
at the Vikes for doing that...they essentially rebuilt the Cowgirls and enabled
a whole new generation of band-wagons...lol

Kinda dumb on the Bills part. They could have picked up a receiver either in free agency or in the draft. Giving up all those draft picks? Diggs is good but he’s not Jerry Rice. Oh well...

Yeah, I don’t understand. I thought this draft was very deep with wide receivers. On the other hand, Vikes dump a lot of salary, but it will now take them a few years to cultivate the talent. Good news for the others in the NFC North I suppose.

And yet all the Texans could get for DeAndre Hopkins was a second-rounder and a lame running back. Bill O’Brien is a moron.

I also think it was a dumb move, frankly. Ironically it was the vikings that gave up their whole draft basically just to get Hershel Walker from Dallas and Dallas used all those picks to build a juggernaut while the Vikings sucked for a couple of decades. Now they get to be the ones to have a boatload of another teams picks for the price of a single wide receiver (in a year touted to have a draft full of tremendous wide receivers).

I dislike the Vikings so I'm mad. Anything that helps my three least favorite non-division teams (Saints, Vikings, Seahawks) irritates me.

Brilliant move by the Bills. Diggs is an elite receiver who is under a long term contract with numbers which will look better and better as time goes on.

Diggs is a proven receiver. No one knows how any of the wide receivers in the draft will turn out. IOW, a number one pick for a young elite receiver, guaranteed.

With Diggs, John Brown and Cole Beasley, not to mention the highly promising tight ends, QB Allen will finally have the weapons he needs to be the elite QB he will be.

The Bills had extra picks in the 5th and 6th rounds, so they are still choosing in those rounds. What they gave up in picks is trivial compared to the improvement in their offense.

Like a lot of people, Diggs could not stand Cousins. We don’t know the details, but he played brilliantly DESPITE having to work with Cousins. In the Bills, he will be getting on a friendlier team, and the connection with Allen will be an awesome surprise to many.

The Vikings are significantly weaker as a result, but they had a choice of choosing Diggs or Cousins, and they choose Cousins. They will be doubting that choice for a long time.
