Dr Simran Deo at Zava UK suggests that wearing gloves could actually increase your risk of catching coronavirus as droplets projected into the air by coughing or sneezing can stay on the surface
Coronavirus cases in the UK have surpassed 380 this week, leading to widespread panic about the spread of the disease.
Many worried Brits have taken to wearing gloves while out and about, in the hopes of protecting themselves from the virus.
However, experts have warned against this practice, and suggest that wearing gloves could actually increase your risk of catching the virus.
Dr Simran Deo at UK-based online doctor at Zava UK explained: Conditions similar to coronavirus are spread through coughing and sneezing, which produce water or mucus droplets containing the virus.
These droplets are projected into the air by coughing or sneezing and this causes a spread of the infection when they come into contact with others.

Walmart was the only place I could find that sold 100 per box at abt. 7 or 8 bucks.
I really don’t want to go into Walmart at this time to see if they have any. Which I doubt very much.
I got mine at Target. You can find them on Amazon, too.
I do the same thing.
Years ago my dr showed me a trick he uses to peel the gloves off and they end up inside out so the contaminated surface is on the inside.
I disagree as well.
The problem may be that people think they are OK with the gloves and touch things with the contaminated gloves and spread it that way.
People need to use the gloves wisely.
Mr. mm and I went to a very little local grocery store here in town and bought some of the milk they still had.
When we got home, we washed both our hands and the bottles with soap and water for 20 secs as recommended.
I think he clorox sprayed them as well.
I sure am glad I got that BJ’s size contained with a gallon refill jug back in Feb when the stuff could still be had.
Our trash collection now has a device that lifts the cans and dumps them into the truck without another human being having to touch it.
Still, it’s a garbage can so I wear my gardening gloves to bring them in or take them out.
If they don't work, then why do the medical professionals need them?????
Wal-Mart has that order online feature.
You could try that.
Recall the DM pushing the same lie about masks .
Only medical professional can handle ...lie lie lie
The elites and the DM really are dummies .
Nothing wrong with playing it smart but shutting down businesses is reckless. Unless there is information that is not being shared with us, this panic is pushed to get revenge on our President - they waited for a Katrina and theyre gonna take full advantage of it.
The best gloves are at Harbor Freight.
About ten years ago, I was taking a First Aid course and the instructor had some great thick nitrile gloves.
I thought they were some special ones they gave First Responders they I found out they were from Harbor Freight.
The best part is that you can buy sizes. My hands aren’t huge but one size fits all are too small for me.
great idea! we do well with okra and blk. eyed peas here
This freeper didnt but thanks.
I see the truth in that, but am also cognizant that there is some information that is not being shared with us about this.
Watching the situations in China in Jan and Feb, and now Italy, is what’s telling me that.
I always go by what people do more than what they say.
And what they are doing alarms me.
True.
precisely the point i was making lol- i shoudla included the /s after it
About 3 years ago I was sick off and on all winter. Stopped to look at why and decided it was grocery store baskets. I stopped touching them. I take an extra grocery bag with me and throw it over the handle. The only thing I’ve added to my routine is pop up wipes in my car. When I get in I wipe down my hands, steering wheel, door handle and panel. I’m still going out and around.
