Dr Simran Deo at Zava UK suggests that wearing gloves could actually increase your risk of catching coronavirus as droplets projected into the air by coughing or sneezing can stay on the surface
Coronavirus cases in the UK have surpassed 380 this week, leading to widespread panic about the spread of the disease.
Many worried Brits have taken to wearing gloves while out and about, in the hopes of protecting themselves from the virus.
However, experts have warned against this practice, and suggest that wearing gloves could actually increase your risk of catching the virus.
Dr Simran Deo at UK-based online doctor at Zava UK explained: Conditions similar to coronavirus are spread through coughing and sneezing, which produce water or mucus droplets containing the virus.
These droplets are projected into the air by coughing or sneezing and this causes a spread of the infection when they come into contact with others.

OOPS - vinyl gloves do not enjoy bleach.
Per the CDC: Immediately wash hands after removing gloves.
Well said.
I assume that the good doctor is full of nonsense...
I wear latex gloves when I need to go into a plant simply because some of the ‘products’ one can come into contact with are either hard on one’s hands or they are hard to wash off especially when it get under the nails. I find that putting gloves on and off is such a nuisance that outside of lunchtime, I just keep them on but wash my hands regularly with soap and water as if I didn’t have gloves on. And I agree with an earlier comment... having gloves on instinctively stops you from touching your face.
Same here. How stupid do they think we are!
just finding gloves is the problem. I hate those bulky gloves.
I have used those tight vinyl gloves forever to clean things where I need a tight fit. Processing foods and esp. meats.
Wearing gloves is stupid only if you are stupid and think they are magic. But it is not stupid to wear latex/nitrite disposable gloves while you are out and dispose of them as soon as you get in your car, or as soon as you get home if using public transportation. And wearing latex/nitrite disposable gloves or not, do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth with your hands. Doing that much you have protected yourself from touching any droplets any infected person sneezed onto a surface and wearing gloves in that fashion is a good idea. Then, if next you are getting in the car and disposing of your throw-away gloves, sanitize your formerly gloved hands. And still wash you hands as soon as you get home.
There is a protocol in removing gloves. Done properly they protect you.
Sometimes I wonder if some of these experts want to stretch this panic out as long as possible.
I should go out shopping in full tyvek protective apparel, see if the checkout lines move quicker.
Oh good grief - the idea for wearing gloves in public for health reasons is to use DISPOSABLE gloves.
Another goofy and poorly written article that will now make people stop wearing gloves altogether because they only read the headline.
Bkmrk.
I bought a big box of the throw away light vinyl gloves for my garden last year and have about 50 left. They’re great.
“Gloves don’t Work, Masks don’t work- stop buying them- medical professionals need them”
okie dokie then- let all the sneezed virus particles land directly on face and hands then- you’ll be fine-
Anybody with any kind of first responder training, or even first aid knows how to take rubber gloves off without touching the outside of them.

Clorox/CDC says 1/2 cup bleach to a gallon of water, which unless I am doing my math wrong (which has happened before ( : >)), is
4 oz :: 128 oz, which is 1 part bleach to 32 parts water:
Found it 1/2 way down this page:

No no no! You must not wear gloves- they don’t protect you- dunk your hands directly into those chemical vats and know that you’ll be fine-
I think he’s talking about regular gloves because I thought of that also.
Might sow some spinach and lettuce here in Upstate NY.
Absolutely.
