It may be irrational, it may be highly unlikely, it may be entirely disproportional to the actual impact thus far, but...
WHAT IF... What if Trump announces a 14-day US quarantine?
We Americans are a contrarian bunch... urban centers are not down for being patient or compliant... The Poor are not going to be able to survive for 14 days with their current resources, and they will not be able to survive a 14-day skip in their pay cycles...
Fauci is the name.
Not here.
My local grocery store fully restocked (minus the paper goods)
In my childhood, the adults of town would organize events for the youth of town. The men would set up the game, the women would stock and run the concession stand.
May not have been a game, but a dance, block party, ski trip, whatever.
Sadly, we have outsourced everything to the government and the concommitant lawsuits.

Amazon has TP, if you’re curious.
The devil is in the details. My guess is that any general federal quarantine would be directed at non-essential travel and public assemblies, with exceptions for the manufacture, distribution, and sale of food and medical supplies and the maintenance and provision of essential services. State and local authorities would be delegated authority to make local adaptations.

“Ok, I’m not going to make my own thread with this, but this is what I received from a friend in high places. This is a cut and paste from what I was given. It will be announced next week. I suspect that a few others on this board can confirm...
> Nationwide, all seated restaurants, bars, food courts, stores carrying nonessential wares, and public venues will be urged to shutter for a minimum eight weeks.
> Nationwide, all schools, day cares, colleges and universities, trade schools, and professional conferences will be shuttered for a minimum eight weeks.
> Regular international commercial air travel will be suspended until further notice.
> Domestic flights will be severely curtailed. Amtrak and all major metropolitan public transit will cease operations, except for dial-a-ride programs for the elderly and infirm. Most municipal and regional public buses and trains will either be shuttered or face radically reduced schedules.
> All concerts, theaters, camps, sporting events, youth recreation centers, public fitness centers, elderly activity forums, bowling alleys, public swimming pools and natatoriums, movie theaters, and other similar gatherings will be vacated until further notice.
> Nationally, elder care facilities and nursing homes are urged to disallow all visitors except for medical personnel, supplier deliveries, and Government authorities.

> The President will issue Executive Orders banning price gouging and hoarding, and will exhort law enforcement to rigorously apply harsh standards and penalties. “
Wont happen Federally. Its worse than the flu, but also not a death machine.
Worst case is that states shut down gatherings, bars, and mass transit, or quarantine everyone over 70, but much of that is unenforceable and they know it. If its that bad, those who can enforce will not be healthy enough to enforce, will be helping at hospitals, or will be social-distancing themselves.
I was curious as to how much of a mark up there was. I hope no one is that desperate.
(I made my purchases of extras about a month ago which included an extra pack of regularly usable items (including TP/paper towels lol) & especially my COFFEE ). Priorities.
I still go back for perishables such as milk, yogurt, bananas etc which I do an hour before closing. I have non dairy creamer if I have to go that route). But, until I have to...
At this point, I still prefer to go myself and not do grocery p/u / delivery.
were just about there.
Bkmrk.
I agree with SS. Were still climbing and havent peaked. We still have a couple of weeks to go. .
We’re near Muncie, Indiana.....store shelves are full. I believe we’re only 250 miles or so from Columbus Ohio....
We are sitting here with (buku) months of supplies, animals to butcher, game in the pasture, 1200 gal of diesel, 1000 gallons of propane, 4 cords of wood split and lots of work to do around the place.
So the rest of the nation can just freak out like they are doing and do what AmeriKans do now a days.
and start air dropping supplies into the urban sprawl to keep the do dats and mon baks at bay.
