Smaller grocery stores in my area are fully stocked with the exception of water and toilet paper. There are missing some cuts of meat.
It allows doctors and nurses not to work to exhaustion. It allows for the slight possibility of a ventilator if you get sick or maybe just a bed with care.

Well, the homeless dotting our street corners and pooping on the sidewalks will probably not “stay home”.... I am guessing the hookers, drug dealers and criminals will still be about their business as usual as well.

But - IMHO - Trump comes pretty close.I love to see him paling around with the movers and shakers in society outside government, giving them props. Comes Election season, when Biden complains that Trump was slow getting tests out for the virus - and simultaneously claims that the government should nationalize the health care industry - Trump will be ready.
Because in reality the bureaucracy was what SNAFU’ed the tests - and would still be dragging its feet if Trump were not promoting faster-responding labs not in government.

A two week quarantine is not to stop CV, it is to slow it down so hospitals aren’t swamped. It gives them some time to catch up and get supplies so when you and your family gets sick, there might be beds and meds for them. If not, you can kiss the family breadwinner and little Suzie goodbye.
